Completed in 2019, this old school Tudor style home underwent a refreshing update to create a clean transitional style residence and completely new presence on the street. The previous front yard was tight and over planted and offered no parking for the owner or guests. The owner asked DDLA Design to create an all new front entry to provide a more welcoming entry experience with new parking areas. To do this, we introduced a low stone retaining wall in the front yard to create a defined, circular driveway that provided a comfortable parking and turning radius for an estate of this scale. The front driveway used a combination of decorative pavers to create interesting patterns and borders to compliment the stone used on the entry steps and caps. The front landscaping and planting areas were simplified using lower and more ornamental plantings to provide accents of color and evergreen background. Additional decorative urns were used to frame and accent the entry steps to the side garden and front door.

This South Shore of Boston client approached the team of Renovisions to remodel her existing basement bathroom. This bath, with an outdated fiberglass shower stall was cracked and leaking into the concrete floor below. The room had inadequate storage, was dark and did not boost this home’s overall market value. It was definitely time for a Renovision and the client was excited to get started! She was looking forward to sharing the new space with guests that stay at her home and use the bathroom often. Working alongside this client was fun and productive as great design and product choices were selected together. In the design process, Renovisions presented a unique idea; using the basement foundation ledge for a shelf that ran into the shower area, gaining extra space for shampoos and soaps, eliminating the need for a niche. Another great idea was to implement a Grohe Smart Control valve which brings this shower experience to another level; they can choose ways to spray with the right degree of warmth. The stunning stream-lined shower trims in brushed nickel finish match the style and finish on the single-lever vanity faucet. The contrasting dark grey, large format porcelain floor tile’s texture resembles a linen-look pattern the client requested while complimenting the darker veining in the quartz curb, shelf and vanity countertop. The Carrera-look porcelain shower wall tiles boast no-maintenance and provides a clean, brighter appeal seen through the beautiful custom shower glass enclosure. We lightened up the bath with a light blue paint color which added a fresh look, giving the illusion of a bigger space. As you can see, with the right colors, textures and accessories, we transformed this basement bath from Drab to Fab. This homeowner had been considering new exterior siding for their home in Manasquan, NJ for some time. A sub-division in Long Branch of new high end homes; caught their attention due to the combination of stone and vinyl siding that provided great curb appeal and increased value to their home. The homeowner required the knowledge of Design Build expertise and residential remodeling experience. They knew this could not be found from a siding contractor or stone mason alone. Help was needed with the Design aspect of the project that would transform their weather worn exterior into a beautifully built new home. Their internet research; led them to Mark of Excellence Remodeling, a Design Build Pros Preferred Network Remodeler. Before their consultation with the Project Designer they looked into the reputation of the company with the BBB where the company had an A plus rating and were able to see the company had been doing business and completed numerous projects in Monmouth County over their 28 year history. The customer wanted little or no future maintenance, energy efficiency and an up to date and up market appearance. We recommended a full back insulated vinyl siding material for this large home; which would improve energy efficiency and improve the value proposition of the investment. The homeowner had a very specific color combination in mind and the Project Designer determined that Somerset Wheat Prodigy Siding would be ideal in combination with Savannah Ledge Vintage Wine Boral Stone as the main two elements of the exterior. The Project Designer added some architectural accents; a stone arch front entrance to the home in conjunction two stone flower containers. Mark of Excellence Remodeling completely re-framed the front entrance working with Pella windows and doors for the entry door system. Additional features included Prodigy window lineal to give the front windows a more substantial and elegant appearance. Color coordinated exterior trim for soffits and fascia in Adobe Cream, seamless gutters and leaders in Eggshell and Wicker Keystones pull the color pallet and architectural components together. With some direction on the door style from the Project Designer the use of AZEK trim was the ideal complement to the finished doors.
