This custom bathroom vanity was designed to feel rich, luxurious and timeless through a carefully layered combination of warm materials, tailored detailing and elevated craftsmanship.
The cabinetry features a deep brown stain and custom double-beaded Shaker door profile, giving the vanity depth and a furniture-like quality. Bright brass hardware and plumbing fixtures introduce warmth and refinement, creating a striking contrast against the dark wood.
A honed quartz countertop and backsplash bring softness and subtle movement to the composition. Extending the backsplash to eight inches—double the standard height—creates a more substantial, custom appearance while providing additional wall protection. A gently curved edge softens the vanity’s linear form and adds another considered layer of detail.
Above, custom framed medicine cabinets coordinate seamlessly with the vanity cabinetry, creating an integrated architectural appearance. Their tall proportions, paired with layered lighting and reflective surfaces, help the compact bathroom feel bright, balanced and sophisticated.

Location: Nantucket, MA, USA
This classic Nantucket home had not been renovated in several decades and was in serious need of an update. The vision for this summer home was to be a beautiful, light and peaceful family retreat with the ability to entertain guests and extended family. The focal point of the kitchen is the La Canche Chagny Range in Faience with custom hood to match. We love how the tile backsplash on the Prep Sink wall pulls it all together and picks up on the spectacular colors in the White Princess Quartzite countertops. In a nod to traditional Nantucket Craftsmanship, we used Shiplap Panelling on many of the walls including in the Kitchen and Powder Room. We hope you enjoy the quiet and tranquil mood of these images as much as we loved creating this space. Keep your eye out for additional images as we finish up Phase II of this amazing project!

The guest bathroom features an open shower with a concrete tile floor. The walls are finished with smooth matte concrete. The vanity is a recycled cabinet that we had customized to fit the vessel sink. The matte black fixtures are wall mounted.

Bespoke inset cabinets custom fit to the compact kitchen use every inch of space. A custom designed arch over the original stained glass window creates the fantastic focal point.

After: dark floral wallpaper over black wainscoting, a marble console vanity on brass legs, and custom arched cane build-ins where the shower once stood. Warm gold sconces and soft lighting give this small powder room a rich, intimate glow.

The option to downsize was not an option for the empty nesters who have lived in this home for over twenty-five years. Situated in TMR, the sprawling home has been the venue for many social events, dinner parties and family celebrations. With grown children living abroad, and grand children on the way, it was important that the new kitchen be highly functional and conducive to hosting informal, yet large family gatherings.
The kitchen had been relocated to the garage in the late eighties during a large renovation and was looking tired. Eight foot concrete ceilings meant the new materials and design had to create the illusion of height and light. White lacquered doors and integrated fridge panels extend to the ceiling and cast a bright reflection into the room. The teak dining table and chairs were the only elements to preserve from the old kitchen, and influenced the direction of materials to be incorporated into the new design. The island and selected lower cabinetry are made of butternut and oiled in a matte finish that relates to the teak dining set. Oversized tiles on the heated floors resemble soft concrete.
The mandate for the second floor included the overhaul of the master ensuite, to create his and hers closets, and a library. Walls were relocated and the floor plan reconfigured to create a luxurious ensuite of dramatic proportions. A walk-in shower, partitioned toilet area, and 18’ vanity are among many details that add visual interest and comfort.
Minimal white oak panels wrap around from the bedroom into the ensuite, and integrate two full-height pocket doors in the same material.

We angled the freestanding bathtub to give the space a bit more movement.
We also recessed the toekick under the vanity and added furniture legs, and we continued the baseboard finish on the pull-out all the way around the room as our baseboard.
