The theme of the collection was the sunrise with the radiant rays of the sun. Only straight lines were used to respect the French art Deco Style. In this bar the sunrise pattern is found on the main door with the applique.

AFTER For this 1927 ART DECO Hollywood home, much attention was given to every detail when replacing the old kitchen. KGD decided to keep the original layout, the glass block windows, and the banquette area. We selected a porcelain floor tile which flows perfectly with the original floors of the house.. We custom designed a tray ceiling, with new square LED recessed lighting, to conceal all the new electrical work and to align the new appliance towers. To enhance the room, we added two Art Deco pendant lights and a rare Cuban mahogany starburst table with polished steel base. And, a pair of 1930s chrome dining chairs were upholstered in white leatherette. Green granite counters were carefully selected to accompany the “vinyl ostrich” banquette seating. Miele appliances were used throughout with custom white lacquer cabinetry with chrome streamlined hardware. For the backsplash, we created an Art Deco mosaic pattern of stone and glass which is lit by LED under counter lighting.

A fantastic antique six-light Art Deco cast bronze chandelier, dating from the 1930’s and found in a home in St. Louis. The chandelier begins with a canopy ornamented with a band of dogtooth detailing, coming down in a chain to affix to the beautifully cast chandelier body below. The body is composed of fretwork with an art deco motif of geometric lines and stylized foliates; five pointed white glass panels perch behind the fretwork. The bowl-shaped lower body of the chandelier houses five curved and pointed glass panels; five incised arms extend from the bowl to support fabulous bobeches with geometric cut-outs. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The glass is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. The chandelier body measures 20-1/2” wide and 20-1/4” tall, and the fixture is 32-3/4” long overall. NC1958

Inspiration for an eclectic exterior home remodel in Los Angeles

Marvelous antique Art Deco five-light slip shade chandelier dating from the early 1900's. The fixture begins with a two-tone streamlined canopy, coming down in a chain to a body composed of sleek, intersecting arches with foliate flourishes. The fixture features streamlined details with stylized foliate accents; the nicely aged two-tone finish highlights the fixture throughout. The chandelier's five slip shades feature scalloped edges and beautiful linear details; a single light rests within each shade. The body finishes in a stepped ziggurat bowl with a bellflower finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This chandelier is approximately 17-1/2” wide, 15-1/2" tall and 28" long overall.
