This has been a great project for us and our clients. We worked with our client from the very beginning of this project to make their dream come true. We assisted them to choose a right place for their needs. We created a salon suites concept design for them that they can use a runway area to maximize the use, closed office suites, retail display , photoshoot place, a cafe' and a kitchen. We carried our construction documents set through permitting. We assisted them during construction with construction administration services. Our clients describe the outcome of this design as "show stopper and functional". We are glad to help them with realize their dream business and gaining a life-time relationship.

Ever heard some say “It has good bones?” Well, no one had ever said that about this house; it needed a major overhaul - “A TOTAL GUT.” It’s saving grace was: 1. It’s enthusiastic new homeowners. 2. The expansive and gorgeous views of Okanagan Lake. 
 We were asked to assist our clients with big-picture-planning for their newest investment property. Upon initial walk through of the home, it was immediately evident there were many previous ‘bandaid-type’ updates that it had gone through over the years. This house was in prime need of an overhaul inside and out: - multiple dropped Ceilings with layers of Plumbing add ons - wall to wall Carpet -a tired Bathtub directly inside the Master Bedroom - a “dreaded” Corner Kitchen Sink -multiple add ons involving three confusing front entry doors Discovering what was previously done and the quandary of why these things were done is always so interesting to discover and can be very overwhelming for clients. A big part of what we love most about Design is helping to propose new ideas to revitalize and improve all that has come before. It is one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of our work. Our Renovation Strategy began in Layout Design for optimizing Interior & Exterior flow, moving into Concept & Style Planning, Millwork and Finish Selections. We then created an ordered implementation sequence which would allow the homeowners to live on one floor while the other was being renovated Later they would move to the finished floor and renovate the remaining areas. Once complete, the home quickly sold and we look forwards to assisting these happy investors on their next endeavour.

Doing a remodel with the thought of long term should always be in mind. So when doing this project i knew i didn't want grout in the shower, then what are my options for something that looks timeless, would stand up to years of soaps, shampoo and still look great in years to come. I had seen these sheets of porcelain from Spain at a trade show a number of years ago, it seemed that for my own bath it was a good project to give them a try. These are available in different sizes and thicknesses and i am really happy with them. The cast iron bath tub with an antiqued chrome wrap is the Whitby from Penhaglion, it sits in front of the window which has an opaque small patterned film covering the once clear glass. The bath and sink faucets, come from Penhaglion, that I have to say is an amazing company to work with. Heated floors in the bath and shower area as well as a Toto toilet, all pulled together with a vintage sideboard that was refinished to suite the plumbing of the 2 drop in sinks. Air assisted rain head, wall and hand held shower with an oversize niche make for a great showering experience. Susan Brook Interiors Susan Brook Interiors

This is a large 17.2 m2 Sandstone Floor installed throughout the living and kitchen areas of a property in the beautiful village of Disley close to Lyme Park which is run by the National Trust. The floor had been installed four years ago and my client was unhappy with the original sealer which hadn’t lasted very long. Without the protection of a sealer dirt had become ingrained in the pores of the stone which was now difficult to clean. Another issue was the rough nature of the Sandstone meant it was impossible to mop as it shreds the mop! As a result, the floor was mainly cleaned with a hoover which was not ideal, especially in a kitchen. I went over to survey the floor and before quoting I ran a small test clean in the kitchen which took the floor back to its natural pale colour and really showed how dirty the floor had become. Test cleans are great as it helps me to formulate an effective cleaning plan and provide an accurate quote. My client was impressed with the result and so I was booked to come back and deep clean and then reseal the whole floor. Due to its size I estimated the floor would take two days to deep clean and a further day to apply a new sealer, so three days in total. Working in large sections I started by cleaning the floor and stripping off the old sealer with a strong dilution of Tile Doctor Remove and Go which is a coatings remover that is safe to use on stone. The solution was left to soak into the pores of the Sandstone for ten minutes before being worked in with a 200-grit diamond pad fitted to a rotary floor machine. This action not only removed the old sealer and cleaned the floor but the 200-grit pad being vey coarse removed a lot of the roughness from the surface of the Sandstone so it shouldn’t shred any more mops. After rinsing the floor with water and removing the slurry with a wet vacuum I set about cleaning the grout with Tile Doctor Pro-Clean worked into the grout line with a stiff brush and assisted with steam from a professional steam cleaner with a grout attachment. Once done the floor was rinsed and extracted again to remove the soil from the grouting. There was also an area near one of the doors where the grout had become loose and needed replacing so I made up a batch of matching grout and filled this in. The floor was then left overnight to dry with assistance from a couple of air movers. I returned the next day to finish the floor by applying a sealer. First, I double checked the floor was dry with the damp meter. The readings confirmed the air movers had done a good job and that the floor was within the accepted parameters, so I was ready to seal. The sealer I chose was Tile Doctor Seal and Go which being water based doesn’t leave a smell as it dries, it really works well on Sandstone and adds a nice subtle sheen to the stone. Once finished the floor looked much cleaner, lighter in colour overall more inviting, you could even see the fossils in some of the tiles. The surface was also smoother so the customer should find cleaning with a mop much easier in future. On that subject its worth pointing out that owners of sealed floors should always use a neutral pH tile cleaner on their floors as most supermarket products are simply too strong and will prematurely strip the sealer off a tile if used repeatedly. Tile Doctor sell a product called Tile Doctor Neutral Cleaner which is ideal for cleaning sealed Sandstone floors like this one. My client was really happy with the results and sent me a message later saying: “the floor looks amazing!” Kamila Logonzy East Cheshire Tile Doctor

Fun Game table area where the dining room used to be. This custom game table base is a repurposed jet engine cylinder with etchings of the flame burn marks intact. Also added dimmable led lighting from inside the cylinder for added accent lighting. The custom top is made from cherry with a leaf to accommodate 8 game players. The chandelier is made from repurposed vintage orb and it was converted into a chandelier. The custom wall art panels in the background is wall paper. It reminds me of a DNA strip. The grey Chinese Chippendale arm chairs were custom upholstered with added back inset cushions for comfort. Anchoring the space was the black and white graphic flat weave rug.

Paula Truchon of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Frederick, MD designed a primary bathroom featuring Merillat Classic Cabinetry’s Rowan 5-piece drawer front in Maple with a Painted Cotton finish. Selections for bathroom include Silestone Quartz in an Ocean Jasper finish vanity countertops, bench curb pony wall and pony wet wall. The bathroom also features a custom shower enclosure, Kohler and Moen fixtures & accessories, and Jeffery Alexander hardware. The shower features Eterna 12x24 Wave Deco Silver wall tile with IslandStone Marble Spindrift Honed Nebula plumbing waterfall, shower niche and shower floor tile. The bathroom flooring features Eterna 12x24 Natural Titanio tile. Installation by client’s private independent contractor. “We love the finished bathroom! Our previous bathroom had walls and seemed dark and choppy. The new bathroom is open and bright! The design makes the bathroom seem much bigger and the shower is at least twice the size of our old shower. I absolutely love the faucet for the stand-alone tub and the shower. The tile with the glass looks wonderful!” Expressing overall satisfaction with the transformed bathroom, the client said, “Paula did a wonderful job listening to what I wanted and helping us pick colors and accessories. She was integral in complimenting colors and assisting us with everything from the tile to the cabinets, all the way to the handles on the cabinets.
