Doing a remodel with the thought of long term should always be in mind. So when doing this project i knew i didn't want grout in the shower, then what are my options for something that looks timeless, would stand up to years of soaps, shampoo and still look great in years to come. I had seen these sheets of porcelain from Spain at a trade show a number of years ago, it seemed that for my own bath it was a good project to give them a try. These are available in different sizes and thicknesses and i am really happy with them. The cast iron bath tub with an antiqued chrome wrap is the Whitby from Penhaglion, it sits in front of the window which has an opaque small patterned film covering the once clear glass. The bath and sink faucets, come from Penhaglion, that I have to say is an amazing company to work with. Heated floors in the bath and shower area as well as a Toto toilet, all pulled together with a vintage sideboard that was refinished to suite the plumbing of the 2 drop in sinks. Designed from Start to Finish When this homeowner began the design phase of a new home, the experts at Braen Supply were immediately called. Braen Supply assisted in all phases of the design, after walking the grounds we were able to provide ideas and assist with the driveway and patio layout. Then, taking into consideration how the stone on the driveway, walkway, patio and fireplace would work with one another, the homeowner allowed our experts to pick and choose the materials that would complement the home and best accentuate its features. Customizing the Materials In order to achieve this goal, Braen Supply created custom 3” driveway cobbles, which have become so popular that they are now in stock in our Wanaque location.

Paula Truchon of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Frederick, MD designed a primary bathroom featuring Merillat Classic Cabinetry’s Rowan 5-piece drawer front in Maple with a Painted Cotton finish. Selections for bathroom include Silestone Quartz in an Ocean Jasper finish vanity countertops, bench curb pony wall and pony wet wall. The bathroom also features a custom shower enclosure, Kohler and Moen fixtures & accessories, and Jeffery Alexander hardware. The shower features Eterna 12x24 Wave Deco Silver wall tile with IslandStone Marble Spindrift Honed Nebula plumbing waterfall, shower niche and shower floor tile. The bathroom flooring features Eterna 12x24 Natural Titanio tile. Installation by client’s private independent contractor. “We love the finished bathroom! Our previous bathroom had walls and seemed dark and choppy. The new bathroom is open and bright! The design makes the bathroom seem much bigger and the shower is at least twice the size of our old shower. I absolutely love the faucet for the stand-alone tub and the shower. The tile with the glass looks wonderful!” Expressing overall satisfaction with the transformed bathroom, the client said, “Paula did a wonderful job listening to what I wanted and helping us pick colors and accessories. She was integral in complimenting colors and assisting us with everything from the tile to the cabinets, all the way to the handles on the cabinets. The owners of this magnificent fly-in/ fly-out lodge had a vision for a home that would showcase their love of nature, animals, flying and big game hunting. Featured in the 2011 Design New York Magazine, we are proud to bring this vision to life. Chuck Smith, AIA, created the architectural design for the timber frame lodge which is situated next to a regional airport. Heather DeMoras Design Consultants was chosen to continue the owners vision through careful interior design and selection of finishes, furniture and lighting, built-ins, and accessories. HDDC's involvement touched every aspect of the home, from Kitchen and Trophy Room design to each of the guest baths and every room in between. Drawings and 3D visualization were produced for built in details such as massive fireplaces and their surrounding mill work, the trophy room and its world map ceiling and floor with inlaid compass rose, custom molding, trim & paneling throughout the house, and a master bath suite inspired by and Oak Forest. A home of this caliber requires and attention to detail beyond simple finishes. Extensive tile designs highlight natural scenes and animals. Many portions of the home received artisan paint effects to soften the scale and highlight architectural features. Artistic balustrades depict woodland creatures in forest settings. To insure the continuity of the Owner's vision, we assisted in the selection of furniture and accessories, and even assisted with the selection of windows and doors, exterior finishes and custom exterior lighting fixtures. Interior details include ceiling fans with finishes and custom detailing to coordinate with the other custom lighting fixtures of the home. The Dining Room boasts of a bronze moose chandelier above the dining room table. Along with custom furniture, other touches include a hand stitched Mennonite quilt in the Master Bedroom and murals by our decorative artist.

I designed this ADA bathroom and assisted the homeowner in making all of the fixture, material and finish choices while working at Corvallis Custom Kitchens and Baths. Our client needed to update this bathroom for her husband who uses a walker and needs assistance with daily bathing and such. We installed a frameless glass shower with a fixed panel and one slider section. In the fixed panel, we installed a small door so the controls for the shower can be accessed without having to enter the shower. A linear drain allows for a zero threshold entry into the shower allowing for the bather to enter without any barrier to step over. We installed an American Standard Cadet Pro Right Height toilet and places blocking in the wall so drop down grab bars (one with a toilet paper holder) could be added if wanted at a later time. We decided to install a narrower vanity than what was previously installed to allow more room in the toilet area. Maple flat panel cabinetry was installed with Silestone Phoenix quuartz countertops and backsplash with a Kohler Caxton undermount sink with a Moen single handle faucet. Grab bars were installed in the shower stall and at the entry to the shower, along with a Speakman grab bar shower system with Hansgrohe shower controls. A combo niche for shampoo and such was installed close to the handheld showerhead for easy access. LED lighting was added to the shower area on it's own dimmer switch. An additional LED fixture was installed over the vanity to provide excellent task lighting for anyone using the vanity. The door to the bedroom was also changed to a pocket door and widened to allow easier access to the bathroom from the bedroom.
