Giffin and Crane is a dream come true for a general contractor. Not only were they wonderful people, delightful to deal with and truly talented, BUT, they added tremendous value to our project, making the final outcome better than we could have ever imagined. We got the added benefit of their years of experience. My husband and I can't recommend them highly enough. They truly value their clients and it shows from start to finish.

We purchased a beautiful house which was "tired", having not had major work done on it for over 15 years. Bruce and his team were creative and easy to work with. They remodeled the bathrooms, updated the kitchen, restored a large area of wood paneling, changed lighting and repainted the house (among other things.) This was a three month job, with us out-of state except for two quick visits to inspect progress. The G&C team kept us fully up to date on progress and delivered the result we hoped for - on budget (except for minor change orders which we approved) and on schedule. Since finishing they have remained in contact and have been willing to return at no extra cost to deal with minor decorative issues.

When we bought our dated 1960's ranch home a few years ago, we had a vision to create a beautiful family home with an amazing kitchen at its heart. Giffin and Crane came highly recommended from friends and family, so we hired them to remodel our kitchen and refurbish other areas in our home. We worked closely with Bruce Giffin and Derek Shue from start to finish: they oversaw the inception of the kitchen design and effectively and efficiently facilitated the creation of our dream kitchen! Bruce and Derek proved to be a great team, who listened to us and respected our ideas and input. First and foremost, they are professionals and take responsibility to see that every aspect of the project is done right. Their attention to detail and vast knowledge ensured that nothing was overlooked as we transitioned to each new phase of the project. The Giffin and Crane team along with the sub-contractors and related professionals they brought in reflected Giffin and Crane's high professional standards and work ethic. The quality of craftsmanship, from the cabinet makers to the stone workers, from the dry-wallers to the plumbers, was outstanding, and we could not be more pleased with the people they chose to work on our home. They kept the work site clean and safe after each day's work allowing us to function and live in the house during the entire process. Bruce and Derek met with us weekly to review the progress and address any and all of our questions and concerns. Though additional projects came up along the way, the project was finished within the quoted budget and within the scheduled time frame. Our kitchen and dining room are beyond our expectations; we could not be happier! They continue to provide us with excellent follow-up service, taking care of any issues that arise, and we will most definitely use them again for future projects.

Remodel of dated town home, including replacing floors, remodeling kitchen, paint / wallpaper removal throughout, marble fireplace surround, bar, counters. A pleasure to work with Bruce Giffin and his company personnel. They were good communicators, responsive, efficient, supervised job well, worked quickly and efficiently within budget.

Within days of losing everything in the TEA fire we were faced with decisions regarding finding an Architect, Contractor, and start making the choices it took to replace our home. We contacted Bruce Giffin at Giffin & Crane who we'd known for several years to inquire about how to go about rebuilding. Not believing we could ever afford a Giffin & Crane house, Bruce reassured us that he could help us build us a beautiful Santa Barbara style home within our budget. Bruce introduced us to just the right architect and supervised getting the city permits to final construction. During construction we had weekly meetings with Bruce and site Supervisor Mike Staniforth at the house and were kept up to date on the progress, addressed changes and reviewed schedules. It is clear the years of experience by Giffin and Crane of the building process from the initial estimate to the final city approvals kept the project on track and within our means. We love our home and highly recommend Giffin and Crane Contractors.

I have worked with Giffen and Crane two times and would welcome the chance to work with them again. Most recently I was the Architect for a pool and hardscape remodel for a project in Montecito and had a chance to work with Bruce and his company. They provided an accurate bid and schedule for the job and produced a high quality, complete project for the client. I was happy with their ability to work with me to resolve a few tricky details and to find just the right sub contractors to provide what we were looking for.

Our home was completely lost in Santa Barbara's Jesusita fire in 2009, and Giffin and Crane was recommended by a plumber friend of ours to do our rebuild. From the very start Bruce Giffin was professional and friendly, and guided us expertly through the rebuilding process. Although we had suffered a personal tragedy, working with Bruce to create our new home actually became an enjoyable and exciting process. Giffin and Crane's attention to detail and obsession with quality was evident at every step of the process. Not only did they build us our dream home without going over budget, but Bruce offered great design advice throughout that resulted in a project that was even better than our top notch architect had imagined. We would highly recommend Giffin and Crane to anyone seeking the best home building or remodeling experience possible in the Santa Barbara area.

We worked with Giffin & Crane to remodel and update a 1970 ranch style house in Santa Barbara. They are professional and we were very pleased with their work. It was a year and a half project, we were living in Florida at the time and watched the project from a webcam. Remodeling or building is a stressful undertaking and we had heard that G&C had a great reputation. I would definetely recommend them if you want the best.

My wife and I hired Giffin & Crane as general contractors to remodel a 1936 Tudor in the San Roque neighborhood of Santa Barbara. The job involved rebuilding and restoring the original windows, modernizing the electrical wiring, reinforcing some of the foundation, re-roofing the entire structure, installing copper gutters, remodeling two bathrooms to achieve a more period consistent look, painting the exterior and interior, building an exterior landing and stairs for a newly installed exterior doors, converting a fireplace from wood burning to gas and much more. The work was completed on time and within the estimates that the company provided to us. The employees of the company were extremely efficient and courteous. Mr. Giffin made many valuable suggestions that enhanced the completed product. My wife is a landscape designer and I have been in the mortgage business and a private real estate investor for over 25 years and we have worked with many general contractors. Giffin and Crane rate more than the five stars we are limited to giving them in this rating.
