In addition to designing and building all of the outdoor and landscape amenities, Southern Landscape performed all of the stonework on this Texas Ranch House. The front of the home features extensive wrap-around porches with flagstone flooring and customer rock and iron railing. The stone staircase leads to a lower patio and stone wine cellar and grotto, with the attendant planters and retaining walls transitioning the yard to the front of the home.

The couple love music and collected posters from all of the shows they attended while dating. The posters were framed and hung in rows on the tall office walls.

Significant Additions to a Georgian Revival House: The original house was constructed by a sea captain and many of the details are a nod to nautical details fabricated by shipwrights. The new owners wanted to improve the internal circulation and interior proportions of the house. The front entry and family room addition respond to near and distance views of the surrounding landscape and the historic Hobart Gap. The side French doors open onto a private garden and serpentine wall referencing the historical gardens of the Lawn at University of Virginia, where the owner attend.

Who would mind doing dishes with this view? This kitchen is elegant, functional and beautiful. First notice the cabinetry. This is a soft grey on the perimeter with a deep walnut island. The walnut has an amazing shea matte finish that is so yummy you can't stop touching it. Every detail has been attended to with a small bump out for the sink and range. Oh there is more, the toe kick is chrome for that beautiful reflection of the floor. The pantries, appliance garage, the wine cooler, glass buffet and of course this amazing hood. These customers were fun to work with. The husband like to shower, and the wife like to bathe, both had to work in the morning, and attend to there morning rituals at the same time. These Liberty Hill homeowners had one very distinct issue with outdoor food prep. Facing due west, their grill space on the patio was subject to the hottest sunlight of the entire day. To resolve the issue, we added on a custom shade roof, built specifically for evening grilling! This angled metal roof will keep the elements at bay, so the grill master can attend to his or her duties in complete comfort.

NARI CAPITAL COTY, HONORABLE MENTION AWARD WINNER, RESIDENTIAL KITCHEN $50,000 TO $100,000 The owners of this Mount Vernon home purchased it with plans to remodel the kitchen. The original space was tired, dark and disorganized. A peninsula separated the kitchen from the breakfast area and the adjacent sunroom was only accessed via a single door. The back pantry was poorly designed and there was no logic to the kitchen’s work space. The first step in this stunning transformation involved replacing the original peninsula with a large central island. Built using espresso stained furniture-quality cabinets with icon legs, open bottoms and exotic dark granite countertops, all kitchen traffic now flows around the island. The outside wall of the kitchen, featuring a 48” Thermador range, stainless steel range hood and glass tile backsplash, is the focal point of the new space. A stainless steel farm-style sink sits beneath one of two large windows that provide lots of natural light into the room. To the right, sits a 48” Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer. The wall adjacent to the family room was never used properly. Now it is home to two tall pantries, double ovens and a microwave. Creative pass through arches let the homeowner attend to guests while preparing food in the kitchen. The butler area adjacent to the dining room is filled with glass front cabinetry and additional cabinetry for extra storage. The kitchen is now part of an open concept design flowing from kitchen to dining room to sun room. By replacing a bearing wall with a structural header, traffic can flow from one room to the next making it brighter and more conducive to entertaining. More spacious than ever, this new kitchen is the hub of the home for this couple who love to cook and entertain.
