Newly constructed home located in the Zilker neighborhood of Austin. The existing bungalow on the property was deconstructed, with materials set aside for re-use in the new home. Goal of the project was to source exclusively from these existing materials, as well as materials salvaged from the homeowners' family ranch in West Texas. The remaining products and materials were sourced locally and made in the USA whenever possible, to lower the carbon footprint and support local manufacturers and artisans. Our clients moved from Southern California to Austin, Texas and had some adjusting to do. Their home had a Texas traditional theme, but they wanted to bring in their California bohemian style. They had a lot of great pieces, really cool style, and a ton of books we had to make room for.

This 60's Style Ranch home was recently remodeled to withhold the Barley Pfeiffer standard. This home features large 8' vaulted ceilings, accented with stunning premium white oak wood. The large steel-frame windows and front door allow for the infiltration of natural light; specifically designed to let light in without heating the house. The fireplace is original to the home, but has been resurfaced with hand troweled plaster. Special design features include the rising master bath mirror to allow for additional storage.
