Creating a link between the house and the addition maintains the existing natural light in the kitchen while also allowing the porch to perch out over the steep slope to create a tree house effect in the heavily wooded urban lot. Ipe flooring warms the space while the sky blue bead board ceiling recalls porches common in the south, an area that the couple enjoys entertaining guests.

this couple. Design an office incorporating antique 50’s globe lights, antique library table, an original
chandelier from the home, and a Barcelona chair from the previous home.
Solution: Rift sawn oak cabinets, with “floating” glass shelves to display clients’ love of books, travel, and
family collectibles all come together as a room perfectly fitting their needs. Sharp clean lines, horizontal
wood grain, light gray stain, all combined with deep aubergine created contrast, while also adding
warmth and a spot to read and relax.

BARCELONA DESIGN CORPAnother view from the exteriors where we can see the recovery of the original bricks that were painted in a creamy color. We also removed the stone cladding that was added probably at the 60's. Decorative timbers were added to recover the character of the house.
Roof tile was all renewed to slate. The client was in charge of the flowers and landscape doing a fantastic job.
