The McKenna Mountain Retreat is owned by a family who loves the outdoors, whether it’s skiing the ‘Private Powder’ at YC, or fly fishing any of the nearby trout rivers. With grown children, they wanted a home that would be a place they could all gather comfortably, pursue their favorite activities together, and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Encircled by lodgepole pines, they also benefit for solitude without sacrificing the amenities found at the Club.

This pool house bathroom has large format architectural wall tiles, non slip floor tiles, stacked stone and glass accents. Two in ceiling rain heads (one with chroma-therapy), a digital shower valve and hidden drain system. A towel warmer and electric medicine cabinet were incorporated for ease of use and extra storage. The vanity features a concrete top with integrated sinks and electric faucets (with adjustable settings for water flow and timing). Also, attached laundry updated to coordinate with black cabinets, hanging for suits and towels and a laundry sink for connivence.

Saddle notch corners with wide chink lines also add a rustic look and feel. Howard Homes Inc. designed and built this cabin.

The PHIUS (Passive House Institute US) certified series boasts triple pane glazing, a larger thermal break, high-performance spacers, and multiple air-seals. The large picture windows frame the landscape while maintaining comfortable interior temperatures year-round. The strategically placed operable windows throughout the residence offer cross-ventilation and a visual connection to the sweeping views of Utah. The modern hardware and color selection of the windows are not only aesthetically exceptional, but remain true to the mid-century modern design.
