Already a beauty, this classic Edwardian had a few open opportunities for transformation when we came along. Our clients had a vision of what they wanted for their space and we were able to bring it all to life.
First up - transform the ignored Powder Bathroom into a showstopper. In collaboration with decorative artists, we created a dramatic and moody moment while incorporating the home's traditional elements and mixing in contemporary silhouettes.
Next on the list, we reimagined a sitting room off the heart of the home to a more functional, comfortable, and inviting space. The result was a handsome Den with custom built-in bookcases to showcase family photos and signature reading as well three times the seating capacity than before. Now our clients have a space comfortable enough to watch football and classy enough to host a whiskey tasting.
We rounded out this project with a bit of sprucing in the Foyer and Stairway. A favorite being the alluring bordeaux bench fitted just right to fit in a niche by the stairs. Perfect place to perch and admire our client's captivating art collection.

The inspiration for this remodel was the owners’ gusto for hosting friends and family but a cramped kitchen didn’t allow for both a bartender and cook. The natural circulation through the expanded kitchen and out to the back deck was enhanced by shifting the doorway to a more central location. An indoor drinks station with a raised countertop easily serves guests outside via a hinged window. Sliding panel doors with textured glass add multi-use options for an adjacent living/guest room without compromising light or style.

A 1960's home is given an open plan kitchen with modern features. A large waterfall kitchen island was installed, providing additional storage space and seating arrangements. Sleek white cabinets coordinate with the white ceiling accent that hosts a series of recessed lights while also contrasting with the beautiful, dark wood ceiling beams. Light wooden cabinets were used to keep the space feeling fresh and clean, while a gray subway tile backsplash adds a chic shine, complementing the modern design.

Cozy enough for book reading or movie night and functional enough to host 10 on game night... This living room features custom window seating mirrored by an, L-shape sectional-sofa, and a tufted ottoman that can be repositioned for versatility.

This project was so much fun! The kitchen originally stopped where the glass window areas start and it was a crowded dining area full of items that didn't have a place to be stored in the smaller kitchen. By extending the cabinets all the way to the end we added more storage , more counter space and a more open areas to dine and hang out. Swing is by baboosf.com

The kitchen remodel includes a cool white backsplash in the kitchen. This detail beautifully compliments the cool tones throughout the rest of the kitchen's tiles and kitchen cabinets. The highlight and most significant feature of this kitchen remodel has not one, but two kitchen islands. This allows for more working space, and more room to makes hosting more enjoyable. The brass detailing on the cabinets and kitchen sink is rich and warm, giving the perfect detail to this regal kitchen. We love a kitchen that can accommodate a wine fridge and mini-fridge for the family who loves to entertain and enjoys hosting. This kitchen includes open shelving while allowing for plenty of storage.

The Home
While looking for space where their active family could expand, these homeowners turned to Black Forest, with trees that remind them of their Indiana years. A stunning Pikes Peak view underscores how fortunate they are to live in Colorado. This home features classic nods to the owner’s French heritage while embracing a thoroughly of-the-moment Colorado lifestyle. Priorities for these homeowners included blending outdoor and indoor spaces wherever possible with generously proportioned windows and doors, porches, patios and balconies.
A gracious lime-washed brick entry punctuates a simplified white stucco and black-frame-windowed exterior with traditional
rooflines. Dramatic open spaces on the main floor comfortably accommodate the everyday activities of this busy family of four, while
providing for welcomed visits from family and friends. A functional, open kitchen is designed for serious cooking, a butler’s pantry for
staples, and serveware storage and dining spaces that effortlessly host after-school snacking to multi-course meals. A main-level,
Peak-view office comfortably supports working at home, complete with a beer cave and tasting nook for hosting fellow aficionados
after work is done. Guests will find comfort and privacy in a ma in-level guestroom suite or sleepover fun in the built-in bunks of the
expansive over-garage bonus room.
This home is a true collaboration that blends the homeowner’s long-held vision of their ideal home brought to life by the builder’s vision
and design/build process that achieves something truly…Warm and welcoming in the Forest.
The Builder
Stauffer & Sons Construction is a true Design-Build team creating some of the finest living spaces in the Pikes Peak region for over twenty years. We’ve developed an easy point-of-entry to the Design-Build process that begins with our very popular Conceptual Design and Budgeting Agreement. This affordable, low-commitment step provides answers to the early-stage questions of “what and how much?” With this critical information in place, a robust collaboration between client and builder ensues, resulting in a thoughtfully designed home that strikes a balance between size and scope and budget.
The Interior Design
Family, friends and soon-to-be friends are welcomed into this updated version of a French country farmhouse through a bricked archway and a solid arch-top entry door. Once inside, a sweeping gallery of windows adorned with flower-filled window boxes sets a nice foreground to the ponderosa pine forest. A great room with a two-story, lime-washed, brick fireplace sits juxtaposed to a cozy farm-styled kitchen with large island, plenty of storage and a Pikes Peak view. This family home features a simple, clean design with warm, wooden beams and solid, white-oak flooring. This home is designed to be lived in. Wherever you go, downstairs, upstairs or out on the porch, this home wraps around you and is a delightful place to enjoy.

Warmly contemporary, airy, and above all welcoming, this single-family home in the heart of the city blends family-friendly living – and playing – space with rooms designed for large-scale entertaining. As at ease hosting a team’s worth of basketball-dribbling youngsters as it is gathering hundreds of philanthropy-minded guests for worthy causes, it transitions between the two without care or concern. An open floor plan is thoughtfully segmented by custom millwork designed to define spaces, provide storage, and cozy large expanses of space. Sleek, yet never cold, its gallery-like ambiance accommodates an art collection that ranges from the ethnic and organic to the textural, streamlined furniture silhouettes, quietly dynamic fabrics, and an arms-wide-open policy toward the two young boys who call this house home. Of course, like any family home, the kitchen is its heart. Here, linear forms – think wall upon wall of concealed cabinets, hugely paned windows, and an elongated island that seats eight even as it provides generous prep and serving space – define the ultimate in contemporary urban living.
