From renovations and new builds to material and furniture selections, we are available to assist you with your project from an initial design concept to completion - or any step in between. We believe that expertly designed spaces impact our daily lives and that your home should be a true reflection of your own unique character and lifestyle. We bring a timeless aesthetic to each project to design interiors that are not only beautiful, but functional and practical for today’s modern living. Balancing clean lines with layered texture, pattern, and natural elements, we create a fresh look. The result is a style that is both inspired and inviting. Kristen brings over two decades of experience to each project to tell her clients stories through well executed and expertly curated interiors. Although her style is ever evolving, her designs share an original yet timeless aesthetic. Attention to detail and keen listening skills ensure that projects are well executed. At the same time, her passion for design and sense of humor allow her to develop a great rapport not only with her clients, but with architects, builders, and sub-contractors alike. Classically trained with a BA in Interior Design, Kristen started her design career in Denver, CO at Gensler, a global design and architecture firm. She later founded K2 Interior Designs in order to connect and work more closely with her clients. “I caught the design “bug” early in life from my Mom, whose idea of a good time was taking me to open houses and playing with wallpaper books. Soon swiping paint chips from the local hardware store was a regular pastime. My first career was as a social researcher. When I realized graduate school was in my near future and it was either a PhD in Sociology or a design degree, design sounded much more fun! I love a good design challenge and firmly believe that the process should be fun and the results should be fabulous.”

She is the best and the most fun designer ever. I couldn't have imagined a better process and better results for our whole house. A new kitchen, paint everywhere, and lights, furniture and window treatments. She totally picked up on my style and makes it happen in real life!

We just completed phase I of our remodel project with Kristen from K2 and we could not be more impressed with the results. Kristen was able to ask us the right questions to help uncover design solutions that we would never have been able to articulate or pull together on our own. From plumbing fixtures and tile selections to paint colors and lighting, she helped us navigate so many decisions while still keeping things within our budget. My husband and I are both busy working parents, so being able to work with someone who not only has excellent design skills and is on top of every last detail, but is also someone that we trust, has made this experience top notch. Oh, and a bonus - she makes this sometimes crazy process fun! Can't wait to start phase II.

Her project management skills are excellent which makes the renovation process move along smoothly. Her ability to keep both her clients and subcontractors informed and up to date on all the little details creates great working relationships. When challenges and surprises arise (which can happen on any job site), her problem solving skills are top notch and she handles things professionally. Plus, her designs and material selections are always high quality and her style looks timeless!

Happy Client

We hired Kristen to help us with our basement remodel after I saw the work she did for a good friend of ours. We had been thinking about adding a kitchen/bar to our lower level for years and finally decided to go for it. I had a vision, but Kristen brought her ideas and expertise to the project and our finished product exceeded my wildest dreams! Kristen doesn't push her own style on you - every space I've seen of hers is different because it reflects the personality of the clients. Kristen works with a great team of contractors and helped us navigate all the glitches that happen along the way with ease. Plus, she is so fun to spend time with - we had lots of laughs as we dug through fabrics, sat on a million couches, and as I learned how many different kinds of lighting are out there! I miss her now that our project is done so am looking around the house deciding what to work on next!

I have worked with Kristen on projects for two of my residences. What is most important to me is that she has a very strong sense of design grounded in pragmatism. She has steered me away from making some potentially costly mistakes with an outcome that is better than what I had ever envisioned. Her approach is to listen not only to what her client is saying they want, but also to what they aren’t saying — picking up on subtle clues behind what a client is trying to achieve. She will tell you when she disagrees with you but works collaboratively to come up with a solution that is better than what you expected. For me, this is what designers should do, and she has done it in spades on numerous occasions for my family. And, her wonderful sense of humor is a great asset when working with her clients and all the other trades needed to pull a project together.
