This large updated mid century home was recently renovated again with a large expansion to create a home with a real resort vibe…especially in the back facing a large expansive yard bordered by a large structural privet hedge. We created a rythmic border in the front years ago with boxwoods, panicular hydrangea and purple blooming Siberian Iris. Great effort was taken to prune out artfully the massive old weeping Jap. Maple and to underplant and highlight it with “Autumn” Fern and low growing perennials. In the back where a huge hill was created, we used Rhodos, Hydrangeas and Winter Jasmine punctuated with masses of Sedum and other low maintenance perennials. On the lower borders we used reblooming “Encore” Azaleas and boxwoods for structure and color. Italian Cypress were planted in large planters with climbing wine grapes to grow across the elevated porches. Tree-Formed Hydrangeas were strategically planted for vertical interest in the borders and in planters on the upper terrace.

This Main Bathroom showcases many fabulous features. An over sized soaker tub was used and some intriguing tile patterns and designs really add alot of pizazz. The dark countertops really highlight the features.

Two bookcase/display cabinets and a corner china cabinet with concealed LED lighting. The tops, adjustable wood shelves, cabinet bottoms, and the door frame are made of solid Honduran mahogany reclaimed from the homeowner's mother's dining table, adding a respectful heirloom aspect to the project. The laser engraved star pattern on the top borders was designed to complement a beautiful hand-stenciled design on a console cabinet in the adjacent room. The bases were made with an Asian-influenced design to reflect the style of many other items in the home from the homeowner's years of working in Asia. The top surfaces and the solid mahogany bases were stained ebony to coordinate with the dining table and to provide a color break between the floor and the cabinets. All the other mahogany is simply clear coated to highlight the beautiful color and iridescence of mahogany. The tops and front and side borders were assembled using lock miter construction. This bathroom was done in historical Meridian Kessler. The design is inspired by already existing Arabian style arches in the doorways of this 100 year old house. In staying true to the period of the house and being that it is the master bathroom we went with tuxedo color theme. we used traditional white subway tile on the walls with a black and gray listello border that highlights the contour of the arch before continuing to wrap the perimeter of the bathroom along it's baseboard. This design was an exercise in listening to the house.

Foyer with Porcelain Centerpiece and White Oak Border This elegant foyer highlights the beauty of large-format porcelain slabs framed with white oak hardwood borders for a balanced and sophisticated composition. Every layout line was carefully planned — the joint between the porcelain slabs aligns perfectly with the center of the doorway opening, while on the left side, one oak border plank was precisely positioned to fall exactly at the midpoint of the doorway, showcasing exceptional attention to detail. The flooring then transitions seamlessly into white oak herringbone in the living and dining areas, maintaining a sense of continuity and refined craftsmanship throughout the home. A design that embodies symmetry, precision, and modern elegance.

Each window features a frosted glass field with a 2" clear glass border that reveals the green landscaping outside while maintaining privacy from the interior. The freestanding tub filler with hand shower in brushed chrome is visible between the windows. The composition highlights the dual-window layout and the balance of privacy and natural light achieved through the custom glass work.
