Located in Denver’s Cory Merrill area, our clients were in need of an updated kitchen, mudroom, and bathroom. For the kitchen, the goal was to update the lighting in the kitchen and breakfast nook area while also brightening all counter tops and butler pantry with Ceasarstone.

We remodeled this 5,400-square foot, 3-story home on ’s Second Street to give it a more current feel, with cleaner lines and textures. The result is more and less Old World Europe, which is exactly what we were going for. We worked with much of the client’s existing furniture, which has a southern flavor, compliments of its former South Carolina home. This was an additional challenge, because we had to integrate a variety of influences in an intentional and cohesive way.
We painted nearly every surface white in the 5-bed, 6-bath home, and added light-colored window treatments, which brightened and opened the space. Additionally, we replaced all the light fixtures for a more integrated aesthetic. Well-selected accessories help pull the space together, infusing a consistent sense of peace and comfort.

There were to many disjointed spaces in the existing Eichler home, and the owners didn’t like entering right into the kitchen wall. There were not enough functional spaces in the house but it was tricky to see how or where to add to the home without losing the atrium. The Klopf team re-arranged the spaces in the house to put the bedroom functions under the flat, 8-foot ceiling and the whole great room under the higher gable roof, moving the kitchen to the corner and creating a symmetrical and regular-shaped great room. A narrow band of skylights and a reduced, but still open, atrium brighten the family’s days and bring more greenery into their lives. The Klopf team turned the small front bedroom into a laundry room, powder room, and hallway to a large, added work-from-home office/family room that can double as a guest room. From the street the addition looks like it might have been there all along, but for the family members it’s a game-changer.

When LiLu was called on by a long-time client to help remodel her kitchen in a charming 1930s St. Paul home, the Design Team knew the space needed to be expanded, lightened, and brightened. First they removed the wall separating the kitchen and dining room. A breakfast bar was added and the window seat was refreshed to offer more inviting places for people to mingle. Crown molding and recessed lighting were installed to create visual height. All the cabinets were painted a light gray, with bold pops of blue, orange, and even some indigo throughout. And yet what makes this kitchen a perfect fit for our home cook client are the storage spaces unique positioned throughout. From shelving above that houses our client’s many cookbooks, to the custom cabinets that hideaway appliances and cookware alike, every detail was considered when making this kitchen both useful and unique.

To brighten and open up the small kitchen, we removed the wall separating the dining room, expanded the window above the sink and installed a French door to let even more light in from an adjoining sun room. Light now pours into the kitchen, making it feel welcoming, airy and bright. To accommodate the expanded kitchen, we removed a hulking set of built-ins from the dining room which provided two extra feet to work with. The larger footprint allowed us to relocate major appliances and provide a generous amount of storage and prep space in the kitchen. We removed the old linoleum from the kitchen and installed new hardwoods throughout the first floor, creating a more unified space.

Family room - mid-sized coastal enclosed medium tone wood floor and brown floor family room idea in Brisbane with white walls

This classic farmhouse kitchen is a perfect expression of timeless design, blending warm, natural elements with a refined modern farmhouse interior. Custom wood cabinets anchor the space with rich texture and craftsmanship, while exposed wood beams overhead add architectural character and an inviting sense of authenticity.
Light countertops brighten the kitchen, creating a soft contrast against the cabinetry and enhancing the open, airy feel. At the center, a green kitchen island serves as both a functional prep space and a striking focal point, bringing depth and personality to the room.
