This kitchen was once segmented off, by opening up the space and creating an island for seating, storage and prep space, this North Dallas kitchen was transformed into a unique and open space. Great thought was put into making the kitchen a chic and spacious area that would function both for family breakfasts and evening entertaining, with custom cherry cabinets, a large curved island and glass accented backsplash. The previous layout felt cramped, blocked the view, and guests and kids had to walk through the prep area. The new location of the kitchen allows for a commanding view of the family room fireplace and the water.

While the majority of APD designs are created to meet the specific and unique needs of the client, this whole home remodel was completed in partnership with Black Sheep Construction as a high end house flip. From space planning to cabinet design, finishes to fixtures, appliances to plumbing, cabinet finish to hardware, paint to stone, siding to roofing; Amy created a design plan within the contractor’s remodel budget focusing on the details that would be important to the future home owner. What was a single story house that had fallen out of repair became a stunning Pacific Northwest modern lodge nestled in the woods!

A grey-blue painted open floor plan home that incorporates a feminine touch is what makes this space transitional. The kitchen and family room remodel transformed the home into a new, fresh space with a great backbone for clean lined furnishings and modern accessories.
