A modern mountain renovation of an inherited mountain home in North Carolina. We brought the 1990's home in the the 21st century with a redesign of living spaces, changing out dated windows for stacking doors, with an industrial vibe. The new design breaths and compliments the beautiful vistas outside, enhancing, not blocking.

In this new construction home, we worked with the builder to provide cabinets and countertop materials. The cabinets installed in this beautiful kitchen are Medallion Designer Windwood Door, Maple Wood, Rumberry Stain with Ebony Glaze accented with Oil Rubbed Bronze Traditional Cabinet Hardware Handle Pulls and 3 ring Cabinet Knobs. The hood is Carriage Black with Cafe Glaze with Heirloom Finish. For the countertop, Cambria Quartz in Canterbury 3cm was installed.

These homeowners purchased this house for their retirement years. To make their retirement even more sweet, we took this confined and dated home and opened it up by raising and widening doorways, replacing carpet with hardwoods, and bringing more light through the whole space. To add detail and visual interest, 2-piece casing and paneling were added in the main hallway. The custom master bathroom includes inset cabinetry and a curved tub panel. The bedrooms had dated linens and appeared dark and old. By changing bedding and accessories, the space is transformed to a light and modern look.

WIth a lot of love and labor, Robinson Home helped to bring this dated 1980's ranch style house into the 21st century. The central part of the house went through major changes including the addition of a back deck, the removal of some interior walls, and the relocation of the kitchen just to name a few. We did not have the budget on this project to change the tile floor in the kitchen and dining room. It was a bit dated and in good condition but by changing the cabinet color and the floor beside it from carpet to wood, it helped the old look new again.

The cedar tub relates to the cedar deck, benches and beam screens. This view is from the door of the ADU looking out into the space. The greenhouse like material we used on the fence acts as a changing art piece where the shadows and lights interact with it. I designed it to be modern Shoji like screens.
