How do you expand an L shaped Eichler with the challenge of extending a long dark entry? Klopf Architecture's solution, to design a light filled atrium in the hallway to open up the bedroom expansion with green plants, sky lights and a glass wall. Not to mention the thoughtfulness of a blind door with wood siding similar to the rest of the home.

Raised beds hold organic garden soil mix that ranges from 8" - 2' deep. Here you see a late winter, very early spring view of this salad garden in metro Atlanta. Various types of lettuce, kale, parsley, and chives are accented by pansies which have edible flowers. After our frost date, most of this will be removed. Tomatoes will be planted in the center where the soil is deepest. Basil and mesclun will be planted around.

This house is nestled in the suburbs of Detroit. It is a 1950s two story brick colonial that was in major need of some updates. We kept all of the existing architectural features of this home including cove ceilings, wood floors moldings. I didn't want to take away the style of the home, I just wanted to update it. When I started, the floors were stained almost red, every room had a different color on the walls, and the kitchen and bathrooms hadn't been touched in decades. It was all out of date and out of style.
The formal living room is adjacent to the front door and foyer area. The picture window lets in a ton of natural light. The coves, frames and moldings are all painted a bright white with light gray paint on the walls. I kept and repainted the wood mantel, laid new gray ceramic tile in the hearth from Ann Sacks. This spacious kitchen in Westchester County is flooded with light from huge windows on 3 sides of the kitchen plus two skylights in the vaulted ceiling. The dated kitchen was gutted and reconfigured to accommodate this large kitchen with crisp white cabinets and walls. Ship lap paneling on both walls and ceiling lends a casual-modern charm while stainless steel toe kicks, walnut accents and Pietra Cardosa limestone bring both cool and warm tones to this clean aesthetic. This dated kitchen got a major remodel. The new kitchen features traditional maple cabinets with a black glaze. The granite counter tops and new back splash finish off the updated elegant feel. Special features such as the pull out spice rack and mixer stand add to a custom feel.

The river pebbles give a natural feeling and the glass tile bordering the stone pebbles are the perfect touch on this beautiful shower. Rain shower head with LED lights and a beautiful and functional shapoo shower.

A full, custom kitchen remodel turned a once-dated and awkward layout into a spacious modern farmhouse kitchen with crisp black and white contrast, double islands, a walk-in pantry and ample storage.

Both the master bath and the guest bath were in dire need of a remodel. The guest bath was a much simpler project, basically replacing what was there in the same location with upgraded cabinets, tile, fittings fixtures and lighting. The most dramatic feature is the patterned floor tile and the navy blue painted ship lap wall behind the vanity.
The master was another project. First, we enlarged the bathroom and an adjacent closet by straightening out the walls across the entire length of the bedroom. This gave us the space to create a lovely bathroom complete with a double bowl sink, medicine cabinet, wash let toilet and a beautiful shower.
