A Hollywood Regency inspired master bedroom fit for a queen. Walls were moved, and closets relocated to create a more functional floor plan.This bedroom features a soft pastel palette with some glitz and glamour. Marilynn incorporated contrast a key characteristic to the Hollywood Regency style by placing black lamps on white lacquered nightstands. She also used luxurious patterned fabric to cover a custom cornice above the bed and reupholster a vanity chair. This glamorous waterfall chandelier as well as all the brass accessories, add the perfect amount of glam to this space. This power couple and their two young children adore beach life and spending time with family and friends. As repeat clients, they tasked us with an extensive remodel of their home’s top floor and a partial remodel of the lower level. From concept to installation, we incorporated their tastes and their home’s strong architectural style into a marriage of East Coast and West Coast style. On the upper level, we designed a new layout with a spacious kitchen, dining room, and butler's pantry. Custom-designed transom windows add the characteristic Cape Cod vibe while white oak, quartzite waterfall countertops, and modern furnishings bring in relaxed, California freshness. Last but not least, bespoke transitional lighting becomes the gem of this captivating home.

Cabinetry: The kitchen features shaker-style cabinets which are a hallmark of transitional design, offering a clean line that's more contemporary than traditional ornate cabinetry, but not as stark as modern styles. Color Palette: The use of a neutral color palette with soft grays contributes to a serene and timeless feel. Countertops: The countertops are full marble, which adds a touch of elegance common in transitional kitchens. Flooring: The hardwood flooring brings warmth to the space, which is a characteristic feature of a transitional kitchen. This homeowner’s outdoor living area was redesigned to add some elegant characteristics. In order to do this, various materials were used. The retaining walls found along the property were made from PA Fieldstone Wallstone. The textures and various colors found throughout this stone easily enhance the outdoor area and offer visual stimulation. Ashler pattern brownstone was used throughout the patio, creating a clean and polished look. This patio surrounded a beautiful swimming pool that was aligned with brownstone caps along the border.The materials that were used in this landscape exterior created a relaxing and enjoyable space, perfect for the family.

Built in the pre Civil War era (est. 1830's), this historic barn's addition was built to match with its notably beautiful characteristics and to maintain its integrity. It was custom built with rough sawn eastern Hemlock fibers and cladding. The walls were poured concrete walls with a stucco finish to give it a strong, durable, and rustic feel. Each custom door and window was designed to have a specific purpose for the barn's functionality and client's needs. As a full working barn that includes horses, the cutest donkey, chickens, and ducks, a standing seam roof was installed with solar panels to give daily power to these amazing animals. Coinciding with its history, the barn's floor bricks were repurposed from Second Chance in Baltimore, Maryland.

This 1,000 square foot backyard residence was designed to comply with the requirements of Seattle’s Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU) program, and can be permitted on most residential properties as a secondary residence, office or rental unit. The overall form is reminiscent of a traditional gable roofed house allowing the DADU to fit in well in suburban neighborhoods, while the specific design, material expression and openness are decidedly more modern. Designed with flexibility in mind, a lofted space upstairs overlooks the double height main living space below and both have ample access to natural daylight and views provided by the large glazed wall and skylights above. The main living space enjoys an open kitchen, and a large linear gas fireplace and opens onto a private patio/ entry area with large double sliding patio doors. The standing seam corten steel roofing and siding as well as the brick chimney were selected for maximum durability and for their natural beauty and low-maintenance characteristics. The gabled roof comes pre-wired for photovoltaic panels, giving the option to make this DADU net-zero.

The character of the interior is based on soft colors and modern classics, reflecting beautifully the atmosphere of the Cote d’Azur. The investors had requested a design that was characteristic of this region. As a result, we created a truly amazing summer residence that sits in harmony with the panoramic view of the coast of Monaco.
