Master Suite This master suite is truly a private retreat. We were able to create a variety of zones in this suite to allow room for a good night’s sleep, reading by a roaring fire, or catching up on correspondence. The fireplace became the real focal point in this suite. Wrapped in herringbone whitewashed wood planks and accented with a dark stone hearth and wood mantle, we can’t take our eyes off this beauty. With its own private deck and access to the backyard, there is really no reason to ever leave this little sanctuary. Master Bathroom The master bathroom meets all the homeowner’s modern needs but has plenty of cozy accents that make it feel right at home in the rest of the space. A natural wood vanity with a mixture of brass and bronze metals gives us the right amount of warmth, and contrasts beautifully with the off-white floor tile and its vintage hex shape. Now the shower is where we had a little fun, we introduced the soft matte blue/green tile with satin brass accents, and solid quartz floor (do you see those veins?!). And the commode room is where we had a lot fun, the leopard print wallpaper gives us all lux vibes (rawr!) and pairs just perfectly with the hex floor tile and vintage door hardware. Hall Bathroom We wanted the hall bathroom to drip with vintage charm as well but opted to play with a simpler color palette in this space. We utilized black and white tile with fun patterns (like the little boarder on the floor) and kept this room feeling crisp and bright.

The characteristic contour of the existing home is used as a reference for the of 19th century house. Two modern gable roofs, together with the historical mansard roof make a surprising composition. The extension of the house has doubled the living space. Despite the increase in volume, you experience the new building from the street as a little addition. The extension is hidden behind the existing building. Also inside you experience the expressive roof shape which creates a spacious and contemporary atmosphere. The monolithic extension contrasts in materials and detailing of the existing house. The relief of the old brick walls defines the contrast with the anthracite flat façade panel of the extension. The interior also shows the contrast between old and new. Through a large sliding façade you step into the modern living kitchen. A tight plastered ceiling and concrete floor stands in contracst to the original wooden beams and an oak parquet. Classic and modern brought together in a charming way.

It is heat tolerant in the way that it remains pleasant even when left in a hot environment – unlike metal, stone and plastic. Known to resist invasions of insects this resilient timber is also frequently used for outdoor flooring. Our teak furniture is constructed out of Grade-A timber, harvested from plantation grown teak forests which is managed by the government of Indonesia. Cushions are available separately.

This historical home built in 1905, located in Lakeridge Seattle had a ton of original characteristics to the home, but needed some love to brighten the space and create a functional layout. We were hired to remove an improperly installed structure and clean up the existing structure to create a contemporary kitchen and bathroom space. We started by removing a sunroom addition and revising the skylights and windows in the existing kitchen nook space. The original kitchen layout did not include a good prep space and had a significant portion of cabinets lower than standard height. We reconfigured the space to maximize flow and function, while keeping seating and adding a bar in the back! We transformed the space from worn and drab to bright and beautiful! This classic architecturally significant Newton home built in the 1920’s had an outdoor porch over the garage that was nice but rarely enjoyed due to wind, snow, cold, heat, bugs and the road noise was too loud. Sound familiar? By adding the Four Seasons 10’ x 18’ Georgian Conservatory the space is now enlarged and feels like outdoor space that can be enjoyed year round in complete comfort thanks to the Exclusive high performance and sound deadening characteristics of patented Conserva-Glass with Stay Clean Technology. This 4,800 square-foot guesthouse is a three-story residence consisting of a main-level master suite, upper-level guest suite, and a large bunkroom. The exterior finishes were selected for their durability and low-maintenance characteristics, as well as to provide a unique, complementary element to the site. Locally quarried granite and a sleek slate roof have been united with cement fiberboard shingles, board-and-batten siding, and rustic brackets along the eaves. The public spaces are located on the north side of the site in order to communicate with the public spaces of a future main house. With interior details picking up on the picturesque cottage style of architecture, this space becomes ideal for both large and small gatherings. "Transitional" -- what exactly does this term mean? Especially, when describing interior design. Transitional style design, usually means that you have characteristics of both modern and traditional in your space. You kind of fall in that even middle ground between both styles. For this dining room, our client was just that. However, she wasn't aware of it. She was trying to pair multiple traditional elements together, but it left her feeling unhappy. The space was feeling dark, filled with heavy furniture and nothing was popping or even uplifting. She knew she liked to mix patterns and textures, but was also unsure of how to achieve that. As I looked around her home, I realized that their art collection definitely leaned more on the modern and colorful side of the spectrum. This was a big indicator to me, she wasn't fully traditional at all, she was more transitional! That was my que, and we got to work and this is the result. Native House Photography
