A beautiful shingle style residence we recently completed for a young family in Cold Spring Harbor, New York. Interior design by SRC Interiors. Built by Stokkers + Company.

The client wanted a kitchen that would blend seamlessly with the exquisite custom woodwork he had crafted for the entire home. Using Medallion Platinum Inset semi-custom cabinetry, our designer took a "less is more" approach, with an emphasis on clean lines and strong statement pieces to provide a classic look.

The wall of maple cabinet storage is from Wellborn, New Haven style in Bleu finish. Each grandchild gets their own section of storage. This Cole Valley home is transformed through the integration of a skylight shaft that brings natural light to both stories and nearly all living space within the home. The ingenious design creates a dramatic shift in volume for this modern, two-story rear addition, completed in only four months. In appreciation of the home’s original Victorian bones, great care was taken to restore the architectural details of the front façade.

A growing family, a rambling Georgian estate. The question: how to imbue tradition with a fresh spirit? The charge was to maintain the idea of old school charm without the interior feeling just… old. An illustration could be found in picture molding (which we added, then painted to disappear into the walls) or a modern plaster sculpture teetering upon an old barrister bookcase.
