Every detail was considered to maximize the vision of an open floorplan, with emphasis on unique focal points and indoor/outdoor connectivity and symmetry. The kitchen was designed in two parts: the statement making kitchen that is part of the great room and the pantry that acts as a second space for prep, clean-up and storage. The kitchen achieves a tailored, clean aesthetic through carefully curated design elements including the handsome juxtaposition of oiled walnut laminate and bright white high gloss, touch latch mechanisms removing the need for hardware, and an absence of any wall cabinetry. The pantry, while primarily designed around functional needs, does not disappoint in its striking, modern design.

This beautiful historic carriage house was used as a library on the left side and an empty, tired, unfinished garage on the right. We designed a beautiful, eclectic, art studio with an old world charm. The clients used reclaimed elements that completed this fun and functional space.

BEFORE PHOTO. Meal preparation & clean-up is a group activity for this family of 5, and full days are spent baking, cooking & canning together. They needed more functional storage and wished for a spacious and beautiful place to congregate and work seamlessly together. The peninsula and non-structural arch that divided the kitchen from the family room were removed in order to create a large open area. Also removed were the dated soffits which instantly created the feeling of higher ceilings and allowed a feature wall of beautiful encaustic tiles to run all the way up behind the custom plaster hood. Turning and positioning the new island along the width of the window wall gave the family twice as much counter space and seating. The space that was once a hallway became the perfect place to position a dining table. The new 8' window washes the space in an abundance of inviting natural daylight, showcasing views to the greenbelt adjacent to their property. The hand distressed hickory cabinet run - custom designed to house a 5' Galley Workstation - has a furniture feel and its own distinctive hardware. Classic patterned encaustic tiles and favorite colors were incorporated to reflect the family's preferences for a modern Spanish colonial feel. Wood grain porcelain tile floors make for easy cleanup for an active family with kids and dogs and a pool.

The peninsula includes the functional 5' Galley Workstation that is perfect for prep, cooking, and entertaining. The client wanted both induction and gas cooking, so we paired two 15" Wolf induction and gas cooktops together that is located close to the Galley Workstation for easy food prep and cooking. Also included is a clean-up sink with dishwasher and ice maker located close by. A beverage area with wine refrigerator for entertaining opened area between kitchen and living area was added, which changed the flow and function in the home drastically. Also included in this kitchen is a Bosch integrated refrigerator, Bosch microwave, Bosch oven, KitchenAid ice maker, and custom designed and built stainless drawers below the Wolf induction and gas cooktops.

This transitional bright south Tulsa kitchen features two islands. The first is the homeowner's cooking centric island housing an induction cooktop below a stainless professional vent hood, the super-functional Galley Workstation with plenty of base cabinet storage below, round seating area on one side with a waterfall edge counter on the other. The second smaller island features glass front base cabinets for storing plates and glassware on one side and bar sink, under-counter beverage refrigerator and base storage on the other. The natural wood flooring offsets the bright cabinets perfectly. The professional stainless steel appliances housed in both tall storage and base storage (which include but are not limited to a Sub-Zero side-by-side freezer and refrigerator and Bosch dishwasher on one side of the clean-up sink with Bosch under-counter drawer microwave joining the Bosch double ovens on the other). The combination of tall pantry storage, standard wall cabinets and glass front counter-top height cabinets add the perfect extra storage touch to a kitchen already loaded with storage options. The layout of this kitchen is both functional and beautiful. With the super cool Beatles artwork on the walls, we simply had to call this kitchen we designed, 'Beautiful Rock Star'!
