To-date this was the most complex dry stone project that the Heritage Earth & Stone team has designed and built. Jon designed it using what he describes as "circular" and "geometric" aspects. His intention was to build a stunning feature revolving around fire that connected everyone in one beautiful space close to the wild part of the property.
Seventeen people were involved in this collaboration including two other members of the Throughstone Group. Jay from Stellar Jay Designs built and installed several Doug Fir features including the benches, threshold and turned wooden tubes. Mary and Craig from Northwest Outdoor Lighting designed and installed a lighting system that created a magical nighttime setting.
The total man-hours exceeded 2,200 and approximately 1,200 stones were individually cut, shaped and tooled from raw rock. From the approximate 56 tons of raw rock about 30 tons were transformed into stone that was used for the feature. The project took place over a 5-1/2 month period and right through the middle of a Colorado winter.

Shots of our iconic shed "Hanssel or Gretel". A play on words from the famous story, due to the families last name and this being a his or hers (#heshed #sheshed or #theyshed), but not a play on function. This dynamic homeowner crew uses the shed for their private offices, alongside e-learning, meeting, relaxing and to unwind. This 10'x10' are requires no permit and can be completed in less that 3 days (interior excluded). The exterior space is approximately 40'x40', still required no permitting and was done in conjunction with a landscape designer. Bringing the indoor to the outdoor for all to enjoy, or close the french doors and escape to zen! To see the video, go to: https://youtu.be/zMo01-SpaTs

This chandelier is our most unique design, and super popular with designers. The chandelier has 8 antique bulbs that hang own about 16" from the top of the lamp. The diameter of the light is approximately 26"-30" wide. Each light bulb hangs of a stem that is approximately 8".
All electrical components are UL listed. We can make this to your dimensions.
8 Edison Light bulbs included, replacement light bulbs available for sale.
Each light is custom made and may very vary slightly but we do our best to deliver an item as close to the picture that you see.
PLEASE NOTE: PLEASE NOTE: All our lamps made with UL listed parts or components and are made in compliance with U.S. standards. However the light itself has not been UL Tested as this is a custom piece.
If you are purchasing a lamp for use outside of the U.S. or Canada, use only with the appropriate outlet adapter and voltage converter for your country. Do not plug into an electrical outlet higher than 110-120V as this could result in fire and/or injury. We are not responsible for this. We also do not supply lights bulbs other than those at the US voltage of 110-120v. If you are in a foreign country, you need to purchase you own light bulbs.

Capped by a picturesque double chimney and distinguished by its distinctive roof lines and patterned brick, stone and siding, Rookwood draws inspiration from Tudor and Shingle styles, two of the world’s most enduring architectural forms. Popular from about 1890 through 1940, Tudor is characterized by steeply pitched roofs, massive chimneys, tall narrow casement windows and decorative half-timbering. Shingle’s hallmarks include shingled walls, an asymmetrical façade, intersecting cross gables and extensive porches. A masterpiece of wood and stone, there is nothing ordinary about Rookwood, which combines the best of both worlds.
Once inside the foyer, the 3,500-square foot main level opens with a 27-foot central living room with natural fireplace. Nearby is a large kitchen featuring an extended island, hearth room and butler’s pantry with an adjacent formal dining space near the front of the house. Also featured is a sun room and spacious study, both perfect for relaxing, as well as two nearby garages that add up to almost 1,500 square foot of space. A large master suite with bath and walk-in closet which dominates the 2,700-square foot second level which also includes three additional family bedrooms, a convenient laundry and a flexible 580-square-foot bonus space. Downstairs, the lower level boasts approximately 1,000 more square feet of finished space, including a recreation room, guest suite and additional storage.

This completed home boasts a HERS index of zero. The most noteworthy energy efficient features are the air tightness of the thermal shell and the use of solar energy. Using a 17.1 kW Photovoltaic system and Tesla Powerwall, the solar system provides approximately 100% of the annual electrical energy needs. In addition, an innovative “pod” floor plan design allows each separate pod to be closed off for minimal HVAC use when unused.

This extreme kitchen renovation involved removing many walls to create the open floorplan concept. The old laundry room was walled in approximately where the custom table sits now. A 12' custom patio door was added in place of a 6' window! Cabinetry was designed to precisely fit in this space using lots of drawer banks using no fillers. Shallow storage was built in to the right of the frig. and a 1200cfm hood vented through the roof was meticulously integrated above the slide in range. The laundry room is now hidden by a custom sliding barn door with soft close hardware. All this was done reusing the existing hardwood floors, patching in with new where required!

Located in Phase IV of Brookberry Farm, this custom modern farmhouse is the culmination of its homeowners’ vision, blending comfortable, classic American detail with transitional design . It features approximately 3,600 square feet, 4 bedrooms plus bonus room, and 3 1/2 bathrooms.

Our clients came to us wanting an elegant and functional kitchen and brighter living room. Their kitchen was dark and inefficient. The cabinets felt cluttered and the storage was there, but not functional for this family. They wanted all new finishes; especially new cabinets, but the floors were going to stay and be refinished. No wall relocation was needed but adding a door into the dining room to block the view from the front into the kitchen was discussed. They wanted to bring in more light somehow and preferably natural light. There was an unused sink in the butler’s pantry that they wanted capped, giving them more space and organized storage was a must! In their living room, they love their fireplace because it reminds her of her home in Colorado, so that definitely had to stay but everything else was left to the designers.
After all decisions were made, this gorgeous kitchen and living space came to life! It is bright, open and airy, just like our clients wanted. Soft White Shiloh cabinetry was installed with a contrasting Cocoa island. Honed Levantina Taj Mahal quartzite was a beautiful countertop for this space. Bedrosians Grace 4”x 12” wall tile in Panna was the backsplash throughout the kitchen. The stove wall is flanked with dark wooden shelves on either side of vent-a-hood creating a feature area to the cook area. A beautiful maple barn door with seeded baroque tempered glass inserts was installed to close off the pantry and giving them more room than a traditional door. The original wainscoting remained in the kitchen and living areas but was modified in the kitchen where the cabinets were slightly extended and painted white throughout. LED tape lighting was installed under the cabinets, LED lighting was also added to the top of the upper glass cabinets, in addition to the grow lights installed for their herbs. All of the light fixtures were updated to a timeless classic look and feel. Imbrie articulating wall sconces were installed over the kitchen window/sink and in the butler’s pantry and aged brass Hood classic globe pendants were hung over the island, really drawing your attention to the kitchen. The Alturas fixture from SeaGull Lighing now hangs in the center of the living room, where there was once an outdated ceiling fan. In the living room, the walls were painted white, while leaving the wood and stone fireplace, as requested, leaving an absolutely amazing contrast!

The best of past and present architectural styles combine in this welcoming, farmhouse-inspired design. Clad in low-maintenance siding, the distinctive exterior has plenty of street appeal, with its columned porch, multiple gables, shutters and interesting roof lines. Other exterior highlights included trusses over the garage doors, horizontal lap siding and brick and stone accents. The interior is equally impressive, with an open floor plan that accommodates today’s family and modern lifestyles. An eight-foot covered porch leads into a large foyer and a powder room. Beyond, the spacious first floor includes more than 2,000 square feet, with one side dominated by public spaces that include a large open living room, centrally located kitchen with a large island that seats six and a u-shaped counter plan, formal dining area that seats eight for holidays and special occasions and a convenient laundry and mud room. The left side of the floor plan contains the serene master suite, with an oversized master bath, large walk-in closet and 16 by 18-foot master bedroom that includes a large picture window that lets in maximum light and is perfect for capturing nearby views. Relax with a cup of morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the nearby covered patio, which can be accessed from both the living room and the master bedroom. Upstairs, an additional 900 square feet includes two 11 by 14-foot upper bedrooms with bath and closet and a an approximately 700 square foot guest suite over the garage that includes a relaxing sitting area, galley kitchen and bath, perfect for guests or in-laws.
