Plant Info Ruellia humilis ‘Blue Shade’ Wild Petunia Ruellia humilis ‘Blue Shade’ is a native groundcover in areas of the Eastern US, including Texas. The foliage is a deep olive green color and the leaves are hairy. The growth habit is very compact only getting 1-2′ tall with a equal spread, in fact this Ruellia is often used as a groundcover in Central Texas. Wild Petunia will bloom from late Spring until Fall, the flowers are petunia-like and a lavender to lilac blue color. Ruellia humilis ‘Blue Shade’ prefers a well drained soil and should not be over watered. This project was a conversion from lawn to a patio area and drought tolerant space. The colors were blues, grays, whites and yellows.

This town home job was a complete transformation from an old, dirty, insignificant front and back yard to living in luxury with the space provided. This job required for us to do a bit of demo, including cutting, and ripping out the sidewalk in the front yard, all pavement and old decking in the backyard, and replacing it with appealing, level pavers all the way around. Along with this beautiful change, we also replaced the fence in the backyard, and put in a nice decorative fence in the front yard. In addition to these adjustments, we provided 4 large very nice pots in the front yard, filled and placed them. Added top soil, sod, river rock, and planted some plants in the front yard. Made sure all pavers were retaining their positioning, and waited time for client to get other renovations, when finished we anchored and placed a pergola between the garage and home and stained it. In short: Demoed job site by removing all concrete, ordered fountain, leveled terrain, created customer-selected custom arbor, placed liner where necessary, built fence in front yard, added mulch, added sand, additional leveling, and pavers in front and back, added metal edging, planted plants, brought in various pots and placed them, added sod, added river rock, received fountain and put it in place, removed and redid fence in backyard, built and stained pergola.

Remodelled house and garden in the heart of Dalston. Bespoke larch fencing, limestone paving, self binding gravel and colourful cladding work together to bring a contemporary feel to the airy sun loving planting. More images to follow in spring 2023.

This front yard retaining wall project in Dallas, TX was designed to provide structural support for the elevated landscape while improving curb appeal and walkway stability. We installed a durable stone block retaining wall with proper compaction and drainage, ensuring long-term performance. The clean, modern design enhances the entryway and creates a functional, attractive transition from the driveway to the front steps. Another happy client excited about their upgraded home exterior.

This new construction home was a blank slate. Our clients wanted a seating area to enjoy with their family or friends. As the space is quite tiny, we designed a built-in bench with storage below and a fire pit that converts to a table on warmer days. We planted succulents at the base of the fire pit to soften the paving and planted low water but lush planting along the adjacent wall.
