For a family putting down lasting roots in Park City, this 10,000-square-foot estate within the gated enclave of Quarry Mountain Ranch is conceived as both sanctuary and legacy. Designed to evolve alongside its owners, the home balances permanence with a deep sensitivity to the land it inhabits.
Thoughtfully positioned within an alpine meadow shaped by the gentle flow of McLeod Creek, the residence embraces its setting. The waterway threads through the property, sustaining native grasses and drawing elk, deer, and migratory birdlife, grounding daily life in the rhythms of season and landscape.
Broad planes of glass and sheltering rooflines frame uninterrupted views of ski slopes and distant ridgelines, while long sightlines pull natural light deep into the interior. Terraces and covered outdoor rooms mediate between house and meadow, creating spaces for gathering, reflection, and year-round connection to the outdoors.
A restrained palette of wood and stone echoes the textures of the terrain, lending warmth and durability to the home’s contemporary expression. A separate guest house extends the architectural language, forming a discreet compound that supports family life, hospitality, and the enduring cadence of alpine living.

This house, designed by Eric Rawlings, AIA, LEED AP and built by Arlene Dean, illustrates the flexibility of the Prairie Style by emphasizing the Japanese influences. Elements like the Torii Gate framing the circular front door and the Shoji Screens that separate the Dining Room and Play Room from the Great Room inside show the compatibility of traditional Japanese Architecture and the Arts and Crafts movement that both influenced the creation of the Prairie Style in the mid 1890s. This New Hyde Park, NY customer came to us looking to not for not only a new updated kitchen, but a more functional kitchen. When our designer first walked into their existing kitchen, he noticed the microwave on the counter, soffits, and the large outdated double oven taking up a huge amount of usable space. Which all contributed to how small and closed off the room felt. These problems he knew he could fix with a new updated layout.
He designed the new kitchen with a new door way in the area the old double oven used to be. This made the room compatible with today's trends- open kitchen design with an airy flow. He suggested for the customer to purchase a micro/oven combo appliance, allowing them to free their counter tops up of that big bulky appliance. This also allowed the customers to choose a sleek new hood for over their cook top. Removal of the suffits allowed us to design with taller wall cabinets topped off with a beautiful cove crown.

A modern two-story home with shallow porch, posts, corbel brackets, and wood shutters is seen behind a split-rail fence. Use of stone, horizontal siding, and a stucco exterior are traditional ranch style elements compatible with this neighborhood. Existing trees and landscaping were to remain at the new stone balusters, and the fencing jogs around mature planting.

This spacious home in North Vancouver's Deep Cove community had been built and decorated just over 20 years ago and was in need of updating. Our clients who are empty nesters, spend much of their time in the kitchen and family room so we focused on these spaces keeping in mind that the more formal spaces on the main floor will follow in a few years time. For the most part the layout of their kitchen worked well for them so our role was to tweak the kitchen and family room furniture layout and to select updated finishes and furnishings. Since this home transformation is not happening all at once, we purposefully selected classic finishes, like antique brass hardware, that will tie in with the rest of the home's decor until it can be updated. The resulting refresh stays true to the original feel of the house while giving it a clean, updated look.
