Despite the challenge of a limited lot size, property setbacks, and strict lot coverage requirements, LandStudio360 designed a space for this new Baker Ranch home that complied with the HOA Design Guidelines yet pushed the design to the limits which satisfied the homeowners' desires. The custom shaped contemporary pool and spa fit set the tone of the yard as the primary view feature from inside the home. The expansive sideyard provided opportunity to expand the living space to the outdoors with the addition of a covered great room warm enough to spend winter evenings snuggled up by the fire or hosting large family gatherings. Aesthetic Value: This stunning stair design complete with a "floating landing" was designed for a high end production builder as an optional upgrade. Eleven of this stair design have been installed in the community with more underway. Stair Safety: These stairs were designed and built to comply with all local building codes. Quality: From the metal fabrication to the finish carpentry the quality of this turnkey stair design is above and beyond, especially when considering the production environment they are being installed in. Technical Challenge: The balance between high-end design aesthetic and value engineering on these optional production stairs is the challenge. They have to be beautiful so buyers select the option but also cost effective and efficient to install.

Aesthetic Value: This double helical spiral stair is stained and visible on all sides. The lattice style platform at the top compliments the nautical style of the room, as well as the balcony with ocean view above. Stair Safety: This stair complies fully with spiral stair codes, and has an outside radius of 76”, much wider than a typical spiral, making it feel less confining and comfortable than a traditional spiral staircase. Quality of Workmanship: The stair is made entirely from African mahogany and is finished on all sides. Custom turned balusters were designed to meet the challenge of the tight quickly climbing radius of inside handrail and stringer. Technical Challenge: The stringers were transported fully assembled as one unit. The structure is supported only by the lattice landing at the top and free-standing concentric stringers. Inside volute was designed to nest inside the inner stringer.

Race Alley is a project we completed in 2020. It was a challenging project because two mining cabins in downtown Aspen were considered to be historical and the exterior had to comply with Aspen’s strict standards for historical renovations. It took approximately 2 years to complete the renovation on the 2, 700 square foot cabins that were joined together to make the 1500 square foot residence fresh and contemporary. This was a spec build with Rudd Construction and the architect & interiors ware designed by Wills Pember Architects. The Audio Visual equipment used for this project Equipment used in this project includes a Samsung “Frame” TV in the living room, Sonance Invisible Series speakers with a SONOS streaming interface in the main areas of the house and a 85” Sony LED TV with an Origin Acoustics 5.1 surround sound system in the media room.
