Bridle Path Residence — Family Room & Media Lounge This Bridle Path Residence family room is conceived as a sophisticated yet comfortable gathering space, balancing the formality of the home's architectural language with a more relaxed approach to everyday living. The design creates a sense of quiet luxury through symmetry, tailored millwork, layered texture, and restrained glamour, rather than relying on excessive decoration. The built-in fireplace and media wall form the architectural centre of the room. Custom white cabinetry frames the television and fireplace with carefully proportioned panels, glass-front display niches, and decorative moulding. This integrated approach allows technology to become part of the architecture rather than visually dominating the room. The fireplace surround introduces a natural stone focal point beneath the television, adding subtle movement and material depth to an otherwise crisp white composition. Its placement establishes a strong central axis, while the symmetrical cabinetry on either side reinforces the room's sense of order and balance. The expansive window along the left side is equally important to the design. It floods the room with natural light and establishes a direct visual connection to the mature landscape outside. This relationship with nature softens the structured architecture and prevents the room from feeling overly formal. Two generously proportioned sofas are positioned opposite one another to create an intentional conversational arrangement. Their light upholstery keeps the room visually open, while layered cushions introduce warmer tones, pattern, and tactile contrast. The symmetry of the seating arrangement gives the space a composed architectural quality while remaining highly functional for family gatherings and entertaining. The metallic furniture introduces a subtle note of contemporary glamour. Gold-toned frames, sculptural side tables, and glass surfaces reflect light throughout the room without overwhelming the neutral palette. The combination of transparent glass and polished metal also keeps the furniture visually light against the substantial architectural detailing. A large area rug anchors the seating group and introduces an organic pattern that contrasts with the linear wall panelling and cabinetry. Its muted tones create continuity between the soft furnishings, wood flooring, and architectural finishes. The lighting strategy is deliberately layered. Recessed lighting provides functional illumination, while decorative lamps and concealed architectural lighting create a softer atmosphere. The result is a room capable of transitioning easily from bright daytime family use to a more intimate evening setting. The overall design is an expression of contemporary comfort within a classic architectural framework. Custom millwork, symmetry, traditional detailing, natural stone, warm hardwood, sculptural furniture, and soft textiles come together to create a family room that feels polished without becoming precious. It is designed as a room for both everyday life and elevated entertaining, comfortable enough to live in, yet refined enough to belong naturally within a luxury Bridle Path residence.

This harbor-side property is a conceived as a modern, shingle-style lodge. The four-bedroom house comprises two pavilions connected by a bridge that creates an entrance which frames views of Sag Harbor Bay. The interior layout has been carefully zoned to reflect the family's needs. The great room creates the home’s social core combining kitchen, living and dining spaces that give onto the expansive terrace and pool beyond. Jardinier du Roi ®, manufacture French planters designed during the 17th century by André Le Notre, the gardener of King Louis 14th, originally conceived for the orangerie of the “Chateau de Versailles”. The fact that this home is in a development called Providence now seems perfectly fitting. Chris, the owner, was merely considering the possibility of downsizing from a formal residence outside Atlanta when he happened on the small complex of luxury brownstones under construction in nearby Roswell. “I wandered into The Providence by chance and loved what I saw. The developer, his wife, and the agent were there and discussing how Cantoni was going to finish out one of the units, and so we all started talking,” Chris explains “They asked if I wanted to meet with the designer from Cantoni, and suggested I could customize the home as I saw fit, and that did it for me. I was sold.” Cantoni was originally approached by Mike and Joy Walsh, of Lehigh Homes, to create a contemporary model home to be featured on the Roswell Woman’s Club home tour. “Since Chris bought the brownstone right after we agreed to do the design work,” Lorna Hunter recalls, “we brought him in on the meetings with the architects to help finalize the layout.” From selecting tile and counter tops, to designing the kitchen and baths, to the furniture, art and even linens—Cantoni was involved with every phase of the project. “This home really represents the complete range of design and staging services we offer at Cantoni,” says Lorna. “Rooms were reconfigured to allow for changes Chris found appealing, and every tile and doorknob was thoughtfully chosen to complete the overall look.” Chris found an easy rapport with Lorna. “I have always been drawn to contemporary décor,” he explains, “ so Lorna and I hit it off immediately.” Among the custom design ideas the two conceived for the 2,600 sq. ft. 3/3 brownstone: creating a “wing wall” (open on both sides) to form a sitting area adjacent to the guest room downstairs, removing the elevator to enhance a sense of openness while leaving the 3-story shaft as a unique focal point, and choosing to expand the height of windows on the third level to maximize the flow of natural light. The Providence is ideally located near quaint shops, great restaurants, jogging trails and a scenic river—not to mention it’s just four miles from Chris’ office. The project represents the breadth and depth of Cantoni’s in-house creative resources, and proves again that GREAT DESIGN IS A WAY OF LIFE.

Designed as a multifunctional retreat, this renovated lower-level library and lounge balances warmth, storage, and a strong connection to the outdoors. Custom olive-green built-in cabinetry spans the length of the room, integrating concealed storage, open display shelving, and subtle LED lighting to create a rich architectural backdrop. A carefully curated palette of natural materials, soft textiles, and warm neutral tones enhances the room's intimate character, while the custom carved wood door introduces a distinctive handcrafted element and serves as a focal point within the space. Large folding glass doors open directly to a private outdoor courtyard, drawing natural light deep into the interior and expanding the perceived footprint of the room. Conceived as both a quiet reading space and a flexible gathering area, the design transforms the basement into an inviting extension of the home; blending functionality, craftsmanship, and a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.

Located in the Barton Creek Country Club Neighborhood. Arrowhead (affectionately named at one found at the site) sits high on a cliff giving a stunning birds eye view of the beautiful Barton Creek and hill country at only 20 min from downtown. Meticulously Designed and Built by NY/Austin Architect principal of Collaborated Works, this ludder stone house was conceived as a retreat to blend with the natural vernacular, yet was carve out a spectacular interior filled with light.

This airy living room was conceived around the homeowners love of art and nature. A palette derived from sea and sand, natural elements were brought in both literally and figuratively. Warm wood and earthen accents are countered by sleek, modern accent chairs. The embroidered linen draperies draw the eye up and serve as a dramatic backdrop to the serene conversation area. Oversized mirrors transfer the ambient light throughout the room. The centerpiece of the room is a silk and copper aerial sculpture by artist Jan R. Carson (www.janrcarson.com) that is accented by a halogen spotlight. The lighting casts an ever-changing shadow, creating life and whimsy to the room. The homeowners have even been known to move the furniture back, spotlight the mobile, and use the room as a salsa dance floor! A reclaimed hand-carved door was repurposed as a coffee table. With this facade refresh, we encountered one of our favorite challenges - how to make a big impact with a small footprint. Working with the existing elements (door, windows, plaster) we added a modern awning to shield the entry from the elements, created a raised front patio large enough to fit a small seating group, and created a subtle buffer from the street with low, board-formed concrete planters. Re-conceiving the color palette, the house now forms a striking backdrop to the soft planting in front.

This 7,000 square foot, single family home, nestled at the base of San Francisco’s skyline Landmark, Sutro Tower, is an impressive representation of the quality of work Cook Construction produces. Designed by visionary John Maniscalco Architects, this 4 story modern marvel has impressive 23’ custom windows revealing breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding bay. Its’ expansive kitchen and living areas include state-of-the-art appliances, European cabinetry and Lucifer mud-in lighting. A handsomely showcased wine room, a nourishing spa, complete with sauna, steam room and custom stainless hot tub, and large fitness studio with garden views, are only some of its elegantly conceived amenities. Floor to ceiling pocket doors, trim-less casings and baseboards, and other hidden reveals situated throughout this home create a sleek yet functional gravitas.

Conceived of as a C-shaped house with a small private courtyard and a large private rear yard, this new house maximizes the floor area available to build on this smaller Palo Alto lot. An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) integrated into the main structure gave a floor area bonus. For now, it will be used for visiting relatives. One challenge of this design was keeping a low profile and proportional design while still meeting the FEMA flood plain requirement that the finished floor start about 3′ above grade. The new house has four bedrooms (including the attached ADU), a separate family room with a window seat, a music room, a prayer room, and a large living space that opens to the private small courtyard as well as a large covered patio at the rear. Mature trees around the perimeter of the lot were preserved, and new ones planted, for private indoor-outdoor living. Modernism and traditionalism are just steps away from each other at this Vienna Virginia pool house. The main house, built by a national homebuilder, draws upon tradition, but the pool house, speaks the language of contemporary minimalism. It presents clean lines and a soaring roofline overhanging tall glass doors and clerestory windows. Great design, careful attention to detail, first-rate materials and impeccable craftsmanship have yielded a spectacular solution for outdoor entertaining. With a fireplace and every conceivable convenience under roof, this pool house might just be the perfect escape for inclement weather as well.
