Inspiration for a small modern backyard stone and round aboveground pool landscaping remodel in Perth

This young Toronto family wanted a showpiece backyard, so elected to build this very unique "perimeter overflow" zero edge pool. The surface of the pool is at the same level as the deck. Water on all four sides flows over the tiled one-foot-wide pool wall and is collected for re-circulation in a massive reservoir located below the deck. The pool's black Armorcoat interior and 2" spill wall tiles contrast beautifully with the Pennsylvania slate coping and deck. A stunning tribute to minimal design. (11 x 32, custom rectangular)

The massive undulating lot gives a spacious open feeling to the yard, while the focal point is a 16’ x 36’ vinyl liner pool surrounded by a spacious deck in architectural stamped concrete. The contrasting black Wiarton flagstone coping helps to define the simple clean lines of the design.

Its classic rectangular shape is uniquely interrupted by a gentle curve in the shallow end which echoes the shape of the curved raised wooden deck. The spacious deck in "rock skins" architectural concrete with deck over coping is perfect for entertaining, while the three spouting lion's heads on the Wiarton ledgerock feature wall add a soothing dramatic touch. This long sloping yard is accessed via an elevated terrace off the kitchen walkout over the garage. Custom stairs lead down to the yard's three levels, an upper lawn, pool level and cabana level. A dramatic sheer descent waterfall accents the deep end's elevated pool wall which is ideal for diving.
