This beautiful pool deck is Imperial Ashlar stamped concrete and used Mortex Stone Coping forms. We installed stairs and retaining walls using split limestone step inserts to form this 22.5" free-flowing wall with integral steps.

A little used in-ground whirlpool was removed from the area at the end of the pool to make room for an outdoor living room. It features a BBQ station (beside the kitchen walkout) plus a sumptuous lounge area with three sectional sofas. The highlight is a cozy fire feature which adds drama and helps to extend the season.

The backyard is a mecca for entertaining and family recreation with a massive deck in sand-blasted Eramosa flagstone set on concrete. The matching ledgerock knee wall rises to the perfect height for extra seating. The pool features a light grey Armour Quartz interior surrounded by Eramosa bullnose coping.

This classic pool affords a dramatic view over a river valley in Toronto. It's minimal but quite unique with a uniform depth of five feet and entry stairs in the centre which are flanked on each side with an underwater bench that runs to the corner. The light gray Armorcoat interior contrasts beautifully with the surrounding waterline tile, coping and deck in sawn Algonquin flagstone. This spectacular uptown Toronto home got a new lease on life thanks to a full one-year makeover of house and yard. The original pool deck beside the house in random cut flagstone was replaced with ultra-smooth acid etched concrete to match the new cladding on the house. The pool’s marbelite interior was replaced with a premium Pebble Fina finish which contains shiny sea shell fragments to add sparkle.

French country influence is evident here in the architecture and materials, with old world random stone work set off by wide mortar joints and contrasting dark timber accents. The highlight is a large dry Gunite infinity pool with visual zero edge. (19 x 49, custom rectangular)

This 11’ x 23’ dry Gunite pool’s dark grey Armourcoat interior contrasts beautifully with the deck of Wiarton flagstone set on concrete. Across the deep end a series of flagstone slabs are separated by strips of ground cover to help the runoff water the shrubs. The entire backyard is essentially low maintenance.

With the custom Gunite pool limited to 12’ x 24’, Betz recommended a visual negative edge. Infinity pools are often designed so the surface appears to merge with the background in the distance. This time it was to make the pool seem larger, especially when you are in it, by creating a spacious open feeling along one side.
