Park Lane Residence is a single family house designed in a unique, northwest modern style. The goal of the project is to create a space that allows the family to entertain their guests in a welcoming one-of-a-kind environment. Uptic Studios took into consideration the relation between the exterior and interior spaces creating a smooth transition with an open concept design and celebrating the natural environment. The Clean geometry and contrast in materials creates an integrative design that is both artistic, functional and in harmony with its surroundings. Uptic Studios provided the privacy needed, while also opening the space to the surrounding environment with large floor to ceiling windows. The large overhangs and trellises reduce solar exposure in the summer, while provides protection from the elements and letting in daylight in the winter. The crisp hardwood, metal and stone blends the exterior with the beautiful surrounding nature.

The main goals of this project was to make it more usable and enjoyable for the owner, to reduce maintenance and to created a covered area for enjoyment year-round. This design also kept the family's new puppy in mind - fencing it in for safety and planting with careful consideration of plants that are safe for dogs. The winding pathway for humans is reminiscent of a stream bed and there is also a narrow perimeter fence specifically for the pup!

Nestled along the base of the Snake River, this house in Jackson, WY, is surrounded by nature. Design emphasis has been placed on carefully located views to the Grand Tetons, Munger Mountain, Cody Peak and Josie’s Ridge. This modern take on a farmhouse features painted clapboard siding, raised seam metal roofing, and reclaimed stone walls. Designed for an active young family, the house has multi-functional rooms with spaces for entertaining, play and numerous connections to the outdoors.

Scott & Catherine Buley, Rain Garden Nursery, LandscapeMakeover.biz, HTT&T. A challenge with Rain Gardens can be plant selection for maintenance considerations. This bed had Rugosa rose and other natives. These owners reduced those to expose this Creeping Oregon Grape understory, planted as 4" pots and highly successful as a perimeter planting with better drainage.

Kitchen Universal Design considerations:
* The oven and microwave were positioned lower to reduce the likelihood of spills/burns
* All ceiling and under cabinet lighting used LED bulbs for maximum light
* The quartz countertop was selected with a matte finish to reduce glare.
* Dishwasher was raised 10” for easier access for loading and unloading
* All cabinets have roll out trays for easier access
