This project included installation of a 25′ pondless waterfall in York, PA. The waterfall and stream consist of approximately 6.5 tons of weathered limestone boulders and river gravel. Definitely one of my favorite water features to date. The crew knocked this one out of the park. Built not only for the beauty and relaxation, but also as a place for the grandchildren to enjoy when they come to visit. As you can tell from the video this truly defines living the water feature lifestyle, as grandfather and grandson enjoy the ambiance and flow of cool running water on a hot summer day.

This Project consisted of a Pondless Waterfall Memorial installation in Hummlestown, PA at the Allegheny Valley School. The Pondless Waterfall has dueling streams measuring approximately 25′ in length disappearing into a 400 gallon pondless underground basin. We installed LED lighting in the water feature and under water falls for night time viewing. This Pondless waterfall was built as a memorial to Jilly a resident at the school who passed away. This bathroom vanity is over 100" long! Two undermount rectangle sinks are surrounded with stunning Brazilian marble, Shadow Storm, consisting of stunning quartz stones and gray veining. A stand up vanity is perfect for a seamless flow of the stone. The waterfall faucets add to the overall elegant ambiance of the vanity. White cabinets consist of soft close doors and drawers. Hellebores, hostas, astilbe, oregon grape, heuchera and the like surround the foreground... while a Wolf Eye's Dogwood and Summer flowering Rhododendron populate the understory of some mature Fir trees.

The program consists of a detached Guest House with full Kitchen, Living and Dining amenities, Carport and Office Building with attached Main house and Master Bedroom wing. The arrangement of buildings was dictated by the numerous majestic oaks and organized as a procession of spaces leading from the Entry arbor up to the front door. Large covered terraces and arbors were used to extend the interior living spaces out onto the site. All the buildings are clad in Texas limestone with accent bands of Leuders limestone to mimic the local limestone cliffs in the area. Steel was used on the arbors and fences and left to rust. Vertical grain Douglas fir was used on the interior while flagstone and stained concrete floors were used throughout. The flagstone floors extend from the exterior entry arbors into the interior of the Main Living space and out onto the Main house terraces.

Clean and classic exterior with textural elements. 2010 A-List Award for Best Home Remodel Originally the interior of the house consisted of small, dark rooms, low ceilings and dyed in the wool traditional furnishings. Recognizing the “solid bones” of the house the couple embarked on a renovation to expand the living space, reconfigure existing rooms and bring light into the structure. The overarching plan was to bring fresh, modern, sustainable materials to use in every room. This would create a unique contrast to traditional materials like dry stacked stone and reclaimed wood floors and ceilings. A subtle play of unexpected textures is apparent throughout the house.

H2D transformed this Mercer Island home into a light filled place to enjoy family, friends and the outdoors. The waterfront home had sweeping views of the lake which were obstructed with the original chopped up floor plan. The goal for the renovation was to open up the main floor to create a great room feel between the sitting room, kitchen, dining and living spaces. A new kitchen was designed for the space with warm toned VG fir shaker style cabinets, reclaimed beamed ceiling, expansive island, and large accordion doors out to the deck. The kitchen and dining room are oriented to take advantage of the waterfront views. Other newly remodeled spaces on the main floor include: entry, mudroom, laundry, pantry, and powder. The remodel of the second floor consisted of combining the existing rooms to create a dedicated master suite with bedroom, large spa-like bathroom, and walk in closet.
