Our design accumulates an ambitious program for a young family with a five-part colonial revival composition in brick and wood. Taking advantage of a generous sloping site the design accommodates three levels of active indoor and outdoor living. All of the principal rooms flank a courtyard embraced by the L-shaped plane using advanced construction methodology. This house is extremely energy efficient and detailed for longevity.

BC&J ArchitectureThe Pleasant Beach Shop was designed to complement the main house that had been constructed in the early 2,000’s.
The Shop supports a functioning, thriving woodworking business and at the same time is a complimentary neighbor amongst the residential context. The shop is lit by both artificial and natural light through a continuous light monitor along the ridge of the roof. This monitor allows for both height and light when working inside the Shop and acts as a lantern to the forest during the evening.

A classic Spanish style home, this full remodel and redecoration included finishes, layout and furniture selections. Mark drew on the context and proportions of the original architecture to create interiors which reflect the character of this historic home.
BC&J ArchitectureThe Winslow House is a play of solid and void in the context of a modern farmhouse. The daytime pavilion houses the kitchen and home office that spreads into the living and dining spaces. The nocturnal wing of the house features a master bedroom downstairs with two junior master bedrooms upstairs.
