Inspiration for a mid-sized transitional backyard concrete patio kitchen remodel with a gazebo

The engineered wood flooring contrasts the white cabinets and lighter colored materials throughout the rest of the kitchen. In this photo is a pull out spice rack with four tiers. The complex frames on the cabinets and the iron handles are all decorative details that contribute to the Mediterranean style of this kitchen space.

Photo credit: Michael Moran/OTTO. We designed this home with a flat roof so that you can barely see the large arrays of PVs (solar panels). If you look very carefully, you can see the outline of the panels above the eaves, but they're almost impossible to spot. The design concept for this home is that you wouldn't see anything on top of the roofs, but the truth is that the photovoltaics contribute significantly to the home's energy efficiency. The home is LEED certified and our clients tell us it's comfortable and cozy throughout the year.

This light and airy kitchen is the definition of elegance. It has white shaker cabinets with satin gold pulls topped with white quartz counters. The matching white quartz backsplash provides a clean look. The center piece of the room is the large island! With seating for four, the deep blue island is loaded with storage and has a drawer microwave. For a special touch on the white quartz counter, we used an extra thick quartz slab. The striking gold pendants are from Ferguson Lighting. The eating area connected to the kitchen is filled with light courtesy of the numerous windows and a set of French doors. The vaulted ceililng contributes to the airy feeling of the space. Sleek and contemporary, this beautiful home is located in Villanova, PA. Blue, white and gold are the palette of this transitional design. With custom touches and an emphasis on flow and an open floor plan, the renovation included the kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, mudroom, two powder rooms and floors. This project wasn't just the ultimate in creating an open concept home -- it was a great team building exercise as well. This massive effort couldn't have succeeded without the contributions of everyone involved, and with a project of this scale it takes the entire team to get every last detail correct from start to finish. I particularly enjoyed the structural feat of making a massive 20' tall load bearing wall completely disappear and then seeing the impact natural light can have in an open area. We love challenges like this one!

Not much space, but Arktikos still designed and built a very usable, functional kitchen. All cabinets and millwork was done in Arktikos' 1500 square foot wood shop. Boxed beams and post contribute to the cabin look.

This bathroom got a big upgrade! The primary occupant, the homeowner's teenage son, was the driving force behind the design. The Delta Trinsic collection was the perfect complement to the industrial vibe, while the natural cherry cabinetry contribute warmth to the space

The existing plan had an underutilized entrance to the Bedroom that was empty and uneventful, and a small Master Closet that had reached capacity. By adding a wall to create a Master Hall, definition was created between the entrance, Master Closet, and Master Bedroom. Custom cabinetry with doors and drawers were added to the Master Hall, creating additional storage for jewelry and accessories, which allowed for more clothing storage in the main closet. While the finishes are simple, the detailed cabinet hardware and mirror contribute to the transitional style seen throughout this Bedroom.

The dramatic projected front entry of this split-level house makes it stand out from the others. The solar array caps off the roof. Immediately below, a row clerestory windows wrap around the corner of the home. These bring light and a feel of openness into the home while maintaining privacy for the owners. The Hardi Artisan siding, the glazed "storefront" -style entry, bright front door, modern house numbers, and color palette all contribute to the curb appeal of this home.

The interior details are simple, elegant, and are understated to display fine craftsmanship throughout the home. The design and finishes are not pretentious - but exactly what you would expect to find in an accomplished Maine artist’s home. Inspiration for a timeless bedroom remodel in Houston

Located in, Summit Park, Park City UT lies one of the most efficient houses in the country. The Summit Haus – designed and built by Chris Price of PCD+B, is an exploration in design and construction of advanced high performance housing. Seeing a rising demand for sustainable housing along with rising Carbon emissions leading to global warming, this house strives to show that sensible, good design can create spaces adequate for today’s housing demands while adhering to strict standards. The house was designed to meet the very rigid Passiv House rating system – 90% more efficient than a typical home in the area. The house itself was intended to nestle neatly into the 45 degree sloped site and to take full advantage of the limited solar access and views. The views range from short, highly wooded views to a long corridor out towards the Uinta Mountain range towards the east. The house was designed and built based off Passiv Haus standards, and the framing and ventilation became critical elements to maintain such minimal energy requirements. Zola triple-pane, tilt-and-turn Thermo uPVC windows contribute substantially to the home’s energy efficiency, and takes advantage of the beautiful surrounding of the location, including forrest views from the deck off of the kitchen. The Wethersfield home is a “Contributing Structure” within one of Central Austin’s most historic neighborhoods. Thanks to the design vision and engineering of the Barley|Pfeiffer Architecture team, the fine execution and contributions of Tommy Hudson with Hudson Custom Builder, and the commitment of the Owner, the outcome is a very comfortable, healthy and nicely day lit, 1600 square foot home that is expected to have energy consumption bills 50% less than those before, despite being almost 190 square feet larger. A new kitchen was designed for better function and efficiencies. A screened-in porch makes for great outdoor living within a semi-private setting - and without the bugs! We selected gold and silver accessories to generate a sense of elegance and sophistication. We added stylish and soft silk window treatment that block light and noise and therefore contribute to a good night’s sleep.

This beautiful coastal kitchen features a Cambria quartz Oakmoor™ island with a waterfall edge. The design’s sandy waves contribute to the home’s inviting beachy feel and serve as a perfect focal point in this open-concept space. Two separate architects contributed to the project, Andres F. Martinez founder of ARKE design-build, LLC, and Heath Wills founder of Heath Wills Home Designs, llc. Each worked closely with the homeowners, marrying their aim to fashion the home inside and out to have a farmhouse heart yet craftsman flare. The main house exterior features a mixture of board-and-batten and lap hardie siding painted Benjamin Moore White Dove (OC-17), while the garage is solely board-and-batten painted Benjamin Moore Caliente (AF-290).
