Mountain style bedroom photo in Denver

Designed and built in collaboration with Mithun Architects and The Schuster Group, Mosler Lofts is the first condominium development in Seattle to receive silver LEED certification. Located in the Belltown District of Downtown Seattle, this urban ecological model serves as the northern portal to Seattle’s Greenstreets and a poignant connection between nature and the urban environment. By reintroducing habitat to a previously un-vegetated site, the water efficient, low maintenance landscapes adorn the building from ground level to the rooftop, conveying stormwater into the planted areas, encouraging infiltration and transpiration into the natural system while easing the burden on the urban watershed. The 3,000 square foot rooftop with stunning views of Downtown, people can experience the value of an urban garden while enjoying regional views of mountains, water and islands. The living roof provides residents with social gathering spaces, such as a fire circle, and provides the building itself with added insulation, stormwater retention and filtration. By providing landscape on street level, and a rooftop garden, this project gives the public and homeowners many opportunities to enjoy and connect with nature in the urban setting. The primary goal for this project was to craft a modernist derivation of pueblo architecture. Set into a heavily laden boulder hillside, the design also reflects the nature of the stacked boulder formations. The site, located near local landmark Pinnacle Peak, offered breathtaking views which were largely upward, making proximity an issue. Maintaining southwest fenestration protection and maximizing views created the primary design constraint. The views are maximized with careful orientation, exacting overhangs, and wing wall locations. The overhangs intertwine and undulate with alternating materials stacking to reinforce the boulder strewn backdrop. The elegant material palette and siting allow for great harmony with the native desert. The Elegant Modern at Estancia was the collaboration of many of the Valley's finest luxury home specialists. Interiors guru David Michael Miller contributed elegance and refinement in every detail. Landscape architect Russ Greey of Greey | Pickett contributed a landscape design that not only complimented the architecture, but nestled into the surrounding desert as if always a part of it. And contractor Manship Builders -- Jim Manship and project manager Mark Laidlaw -- brought precision and skill to the construction of what architect C.P. Drewett described as "a watch." This foyer was updated with the addition of white paneling and new herringbone hardwood floors with a walnut border. The walls are covered in a navy blue grasscloth wallpaper from Thibaut. A navy and white geometric patterned stair-runner, held in place with stair rods capped with pineapple finials, further contributes to the home's coastal feel.
