Transitional style is the new classic in home design and Masonite expects it to stay for a while — after all, it’s a timeless aesthetic that’s easily updated and personalized.
Transitional style is simple with touches of warmth conveyed through neutral or soft tones and touches of gold. It has mass appeal with men and women alike and is an easy solution for those who find Modern too cold and Traditional too stuffy.

Despite the trend toward contemporary, Traditional style staircases continue to be very popular in today’s custom designed homes. While the main material in a traditional staircase is often wood, these classic designs can range from very simple to elaborate. This traditional freestanding circular staircase includes a combination of stained and painted wood resulting in an appealing and elegant design. Despite the contrast in tones, the wood still conveys a sense of warmth and an inviting atmosphere. This stair includes paint grade skirts & risers, quarter sawn white oak treads, custom turned newel posts, and a bent white oak handrail.

I've been building decks for years. I will tell you that they add something to quality of life that words will not convey. A deck doesn't have to be fancy. It should be the right placement, the right size, and have some special touch, something. If the budget is super tight, that 'something' may just be the apparent touch of professionalism. If there is a little room in the budget, that 'something' could be these built-in benches, providing a simple and beautiful resolution to seating and railings. This might be my favorite deck I've ever built, and easily my favorite client. 'wink' love you Mom

Updated Traditional lobby for an Assisted Living Memory Care Community. The use of antimicrobial/ Crypton and Greengard contract fabrics was imperative to support the residences healthy, comfortable and attractive environment. Always aware of ADA compliances, spacing for wheel chairs and walkers was critical as well as the proper lighting and accessories. Studies have shown that plants and images of exteriors create a soothing space for communities that specialize in memory Care. To prevent wandering without "imprisoning" residents, camouflaging exit doors and using unobtrusive or keypad locks. Exit doors can also be placed off to the left, or right of hallways so they are not conveyed as destinations.

Working with Ellen Hanson of Pansy Bayou, we maximized impact in the kitchen by installing extra-tall cabinets to utilize the great ceiling height of this historic bungalow. After doing away with the beyond dated pink tile originally used in the kitchen, we added gorgeous white subway tile backsplash, a cabinet face on the refrigerator door to keep visuals crisp and uncluttered.
Ellen Hanson conveyed what she called a "bespoke sense of luxury," with the incorporation of custom white cabinets -- combined with the white backsplash to make the tiny space feel larger. Notice the large farmhouse sink. Its size works perfectly as a standout focus in this small space.

The entrance gate of this property is elegantly integrated into the natural landscape, with a sophisticated balance of modern architecture and organic elements. Bold lettering is etched onto a substantial stone backdrop, creating a striking contrast that conveys luxury and permanence. Lush vegetation and strategic lighting complement the stone's texture, while the clean lines of the gate suggest a contemporary aesthetic.

In the seating section of the space, fun, novelty throw pillows established a winning color scheme of off-white, fuchsia, spicy orange, and parrot green that give this sunroom a fresh, fun, and cozy feeling. The traditionally-styled upholstered furnishings, along with the two-toned modern farmhouse styled tables give the room a comfortable aura while the bright festive color palette imparts an exciting vibe.
A combination of silk and living plants that thrive in the natural sunlight add the perfect touch of natural shades of green that conveys an outside ambiance. Finally, lamps and other accessories finish the room’s update.

Check out this dramatic contemporary staircase that we installed in Holladay. The stark contrast between the dark stained wood, the horizontal silver flat bars, and the marble treads is a powerful combination. Each individual component stands out while at the same time working together to create a bold masterpiece. The mixture of linear and curved cuts on the newel posts conveys additional boldness and drama. Also, notice the flat bar detail as they pass through the wooden posts. The bars were installed in such a way as to make each flat bar look like one continuous piece passing through each wooden post.

This Gladwyne, PA home remodel focused on delivering highly refined and precisely crafted space to a discerning client. A contemporary palate of materials was used throughout the kitchen and 4 bathrooms to unify the home and reflect consistency of concept. Highly detailed millwork drawings were created to convey the specifics of reveals, pulls, integrated appliances, tile patterns, and lighting reveals. The project serves both the modern lifestyle of the client while at once, complementing the home’s original late mid-century design integrity.
