A new and improved kitchen layout that is perfect for this young family of four. With ample storage in the kitchen island and upper cabinets, we were able to keep the design low-maintenance and easy to keep clean, as clutter would have taken away from the light and airy aesthetic. A light gray kitchen island and subway tile backsplash paired with the bright white countertops and cabinets gave the space a refreshing contemporary look. Darker gray contrasts with the lighter color palette through the stainless steel appliances and unique pendant lights.
To the corner of the kitchen, you'll find a discreet built-in study. Fully equipped for those who work from home or for the children to finish school projects. This small office-kitchen space duo is perfect for bringing the whole family together, for meals and throughout the day.
Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who serve Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Wilmette, and all the way up to Lake Forest.

High on our client’s wish list was eliminating upper cabinets and keeping the countertops clear of clutter and small appliances. In order to achieve this, we needed to ensure there was ample room in the new base cabinets and walk-through pantry. The reconfigured pantry accommodates a variety of uses from storage to microwaving. A wall of cubbies, shelves and hooks on the opposite serves as mudroom.

“We were able to let natural light into the kitchen from both the east side and west side of the house. Before the remodel, our kitchen was dark because of the color scheme and having only the one window on the east side of the house. Now our kitchen/dining room is full of natural light!” The couple chose Semihandmade’s 30″ white Supermatte Shaker cabinetry and Shaker drawers along with white IKEA UTRUSTA shelving and drawer fronts and corner base cabinets with pullout fittings; white IKEA MAXIMERA drawers and pullout interior fittings.

High end, highly custom complete kitchen remodel with amazing details.

For our Interior Design Show - 2014 booth we put together a every eclectic mix of cabinets to showcase our kitchens. The base cabinets are made from reclaimed teak wood. The middle base cabinet still has original patina / colors , which makes it a one of kind piece, sandwiched between reclaimed teak wood cabinets in natural stain. The contrast between color & natural wood grains looks stunning.
For wall cabinets we used solid wood hand carved doors which were painted gray. The square iron handles were custom designed & build. The back splash was specially designed from sheet metal and treated to give a deep black patina.
Overall a stunning kitchen! So much so , interior designer Yanic Simard featured Inde-Art reclaimed wood kitchens as
- " 2014's Hottest Trends on Display at the Interior Design Show " ( http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/yanic-simard/ids-2014_b_4676223.html)
- And featured our kitchen vignette on City Line on City TV.

Wanting to bring California cool to warm Texas, Designer Elizabeth Tranberg brought to life the kitchen these homeowners could only dream of. Designed with mostly base cabinetry to prevent obstructed views, an oversized arching window provides clear eyesight from every corner of the kitchen, whether you’re sitting at one of the oversized parallel islands or cooking at the stove.
The cabinetry is Wood-Mode’s Cologne Inset door style with Hidden Dust Rail, and custom color matched for a Walnut finish. Hidden within the cabinets, pull-out bases and other organizational features along with integrated cabinet lighting make it easy to find cooking supplies, and below, toekick lighting provides ambient and functional lighting after the sun goes down. On top, white marbled countertops complement the Walnut Wood-Mode cabinetry beneath, and across the room, a marble accent wall hosts a wet bar and floating shelving that showcases glassware.
