Living room - large mediterranean enclosed terra-cotta tile living room idea in Houston with blue walls and no tv
Living room - large mediterranean enclosed terra-cotta tile living room idea in Houston with blue walls and no tv

Built on Frank Sinatra’s estate, this custom home was designed to be a fun and relaxing weekend retreat for our clients who live full time in Orange County. As a second home and playing up the mid-century vibe ubiquitous in the desert, we departed from our clients’ more traditional style to create a modern and unique space with the feel of a boutique hotel. Classic mid-century materials were used for the architectural elements and hard surfaces of the home such as walnut flooring and cabinetry, terrazzo stone and straight set brick walls, while the furnishings are a more eclectic take on modern style. We paid homage to “Old Blue Eyes” by hanging a 6’ tall image of his mug shot in the entry.

Right off the kitchen is a butler’s pantry. The dark blue raised panel cabinets with satin gold pulls and the white quartz counter correspond with the kitchen. We used mirrors for the backsplash and on the upper cabinets. And, of course, no beverage center is complete with a wine refrigerator!
Sleek and contemporary, this beautiful home is located in Villanova, PA. Blue, white and gold are the palette of this transitional design. With custom touches and an emphasis on flow and an open floor plan, the renovation included the kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, mudroom, two powder rooms and floors.

This clean, bright intervention includes custom designed kitchen cabinetry, bathroom fixtures and several specially designed tile patterns. Spaces were arranged to keep flow and lines of sight open. The kitchen is a clean, bright, and warm space that invites visitors into the apartment. Horizontal grain douglas fir cabinets are topped with white corian counters. The master bedroom and bathroom receive daylight through clerestory windows to the well lit living room and kitchen.
The master bath features an immersive shower which wraps the walls and cascades to the floor. The powder room includes simple brass fixtures in contrast to a geometric wall paper and corresponding floor pattern. A salvaged mantle is the focus in the living room and features a pattern designed to add a subtle geometric texture.

This Ranch Hacienda hillside estate boasts well over 13,000 square feet under roof. A loggia serves as the backbone for the design. Each space, both interior and exterior, has a direct response to the linear expression of outdoor space.
The exterior materials and detailing are rustic and simple in nature. The mass and scale create drama and correspond to the vast desert skyline and adjacent majestic McDowell mountain views.
Features of the house include a motor court with dual garages, a separate guest quarters, and a walk-in cooler.

Custom, floating walnut shelving and lower cabinets/book shelves work for display, hiding video equipment and dog toys, too! Thibaut aqua blue grasscloth sets it all off in a very soothing way.
