Situated in a neighborhood beginning to turn around, the design seeks "To Blend the Old With The New". The building design faced many challenges as it went thru the local Citizens Association, the Planning Commission and the City Counsel. Knowing the neighborhood needed flexibility in regards to end users, the lofts concept was developed as a live/work solution. Green Design elements were incorporated; most notable was a 20 well geothermal heat and cool system located under the parking lot.

This client felt lost as far as design and selection. She'd already received my counsel regarding refinishing and the color of her kitchen cabinets. When she reached out to me again to assist with organizing her home and suggesting a few new pieces I was elated. A majority of the project consisted of relocating existing furniture and accessories as well as purging items that didn't work well with the design style. The guest room was transformed when we painted a lovely green color over the orange walls. The room that saw the most change was the dining room as it got all new furniture, a rug and wall color. I'm so thankful to know that this project is greatly loved. Photos by Barrett Woodward of Showcase Photographers

Living room - mid-sized modern enclosed light wood floor and gray floor living room idea in New York with a bar, white walls, a standard fireplace, a stone fireplace and a wall-mounted tv

I loved working with IKD. As I ran into questions (I debated putting in an appliance garage) they´re very helpful with what I’d need through the online chat. That was much more effective than the time we struggled with installation door fronts and spent an hour on hold with IKEA customer service.
I also have counseled other friends to work with local installers directly instead of contracting through IKEA for the countertops. I love my quartz countertops but the delays were very frustrating.
We like the subway tile and how the range hood has plenty of space around it.
