A Creve Coeur, MO finished basement with a gift wrapping room has an impressive floor-to-ceiling hutch cabinet that holds gift wrapping supplies is custom-designed and built by Mosby to fit exact crafting needs. It starts with Wellborn Madison maple cabinets with a white finish, and Cal Crystal Olde World Collection cabinet pulls. Details of ribbon, paper and supplies storage was measured on-site and ingenious carpenter ideas were applied to give them the craft storage they dreamed of.

This small third bedroom in a 1950's North Vancouver home originally housed our growing interior design business. When we outgrew this 80 square foot space and moved to a studio across the street, I wondered what would become of this room with its lovely ocean view. As it turns out it evolved into a shared creative space for myself and my very artistic 7 year old daughter. In the spirit of Virginia Wolfe's "A Room of One's Own" this is a creative space where we are surrounded by some of our favourite things including vintage collectibles & furniture, artwork and craft projects, not to mention my all time favourite Cole and Son wallpaper. It is all about pretty and girly with just the right amount of colour. Interior Design by Lori Steeves of Simply Home Decorating Inc. Photos by Tracey Ayton Photography.

This previously unused attic space is now a sauna/yoga room. The left sauna wall follows the attic rafters down diagonally to allow a wider space for leg room on the twin sauna benches.

This beautiful Arts & Crafts style kitchen won a NARI Contractor of the Year award. The rich wood tones complement the rustic green and rust colored tiles. Built-in storage and shaker-style doors exemplify the principle of "form follows function," and decorative accents like the stained glass have clean, straight lines. The stone arch serves as one focal point, while another, the custom copper hood, is inscribed with the words "The Best Things in Life Aren't Things."

When the family built a brand new home in Wentzville, they purposely left the walk-out basement unfinished so they learn what they wanted from that space. Two years later they knew the basement should serve as a multi-tasking lower level, effectively creating a 3rd story of their home.
Mosby transformed the basement into a family room with built-in cabinetry and a gas fireplace. Off the family room is a spacious guest bedroom (with an egress window) that leads to a full bathroom with walk-in shower.
That bathroom is also accessed by the new hallway with walk-in closet storage, access to an unfinished utility area and a bright and lively craft room that doubles as a home office. There’s even additional storage behind a sliding barn door.
Design details that add personality include softly curved edges on the walls and soffits, a geometric cut-out on the stairwell and custom cabinetry that carries through all the rooms.

A charming 1920s Los Angeles home serves as a place of business, and the guest room doubles as a work studio.
Elfa utility boards from The Container Store were the perfect solution for tools, keeping them visible and accessible above the workspace instead of piled on top of it.

Everyday dishes are displayed on three understated shelves, also crafted from Reclaimed Chestnut.
