Inspiration for a coastal home design remodel in New York

We designed this basement kitchenette to resemble that of a mini theater concession stand! Sleek black paneled cabinetry with a glass door display case is perfect for showing off your collection of sweets! A popcorn and soft ice cream machine are also a nice touch to this home theater - setting the mood for a cozy night in watching your favorite movie. The add a bit of personal style, we adorned the kitchenette with the client's unique artwork -- showcasing passionate reds and working as a contrast to the overall monochromatic kitchenette design. Project designed by Star Valley, Wyoming interior design firm Tawna Allred Interiors. This entry leads directly to the living room, dining room and adjacent staircase. Warm and inviting, the tonal color concept receives a pop of color from the accessories, lighting and artwork. A textural cream color shag rug defines the space. Contemporary updates include a modern drop 'ping-pong' light fixture and floating glass shelving plus tomato soup-y red lacquer nesting table which is a set of three from the 19670's. This family room is part of a gorgeous home on a 5 acre farm. The furniture chosen reflects the casual style of the home and mixes well with the organic and eclectic accents and antiques. A large window mirror was installed on the left side of the fireplace to balance the window on the right. The drum shade chandelier features a branch design which ties the room together. The seating keeps the fireplace as the focal point of the room while allowing for easy tv watching.

This room was designed with the modern family in mind. Although light and neutral, the fabrics are high performance and pre-treated so that you can feel safe letting the kiddos hang out in this space. The comfortable, made-in-America sectional and chair are perfect for curling up and watching a good movie by the warm fire. The media room boasts a feature wall to warm up the large open space with wood tones and texture. A large sectional makes for cozy movie nights. Shades of blue accent the room, grounded by a deep blue plaid rug for a touch of coastal prep. Here, the cordless candlestick lamps on the console are dressed with Morris & Co's Marigold Linen, creating ambient light for TV watching. Bright light from the windows in the nook at the front of the house created a perfect spot for a home office. The rear corner became a reading nook that housed a pair of the client's leather recliners.
