Our European-style whole home project begins in the kitchen, with its arched entries, limewash walls, and elegant La Cornue CorneFé 110 range and combines old-world charm with modern amenities. To complete the design-build, we focused on functional and decorative elements that honor the space's character while adding layers of warmth and texture to the designed spaces. Inside the man cave is a hidden gem of colorful finishes and patterns. Marimekko Pieni Tiara Blue wallpaper blends seamlessly with the Amazonite quartzite drop edge countertop from the Stone Collection. The floating peppercorn stained maple Ultra Craft cabinets with exposed Jalco chrome plumbing allows a more spacious feeling than a typical vanity. Top Knobs Kingsbridge pulls in an Ash Gray finish bring a masculine yet tailored style to this bath. The oak hardwood floors continue from the den to create warmth and continuity. In the shower we used Crossville Tender Gray 4”x10” in a brcklay pattern on the walls, Uptown Glass Frost Moka 1” hex mosaic tile on the floor and shampoo niche, and for the vanity sink, we installed a low vessel Kohler Inia Wading Pool in the Ice finish, and paired it with the Brizo Rook single handle faucet in chrome. The shower fixtures are also from the Brizo Rook collection.

Designing a whole home remodel for a client’s second home was an exciting opportunity to create a space that felt both welcoming and timeless. The clients wanted a space that felt light, bright, and timeless. We focused on an open-concept layout, maximizing natural light and incorporating soft, neutral tones that complemented the desert landscape. The main showstopper of the home was the kitchen, which the family considered the heart of the home. Featuring high-end finishes, the kitchen became a space for both cooking and gathering, designed for both functionality and elegance. Thoughtful touches, such as custom cabinetry, integrated appliances, and custom hood, helped elevate the entire space, making it a true focal point. With a thoughtful blend of modern design and classic touches, the remodel was tailored to ensure the space could grow with the family and become a place they would cherish and enjoy for years to come.

Bespoke inset cabinets custom fit to the compact kitchen use every inch of space. A custom designed arch over the original stained glass window creates the fantastic focal point.

Set in the garden beside a traditional Dutch Colonial home in Wellesley, Flavin conceived this boldly modern retreat, built of steel, wood and concrete. The building is designed to engage the client’s passions for gardening, entertaining and restoring vintage Vespa scooters. The Vespa repair shop and garage are on the first floor. The second floor houses a home office and veranda. On top is a roof deck with space for lounging and outdoor dining, surrounded by a vegetable garden in raised planters. The structural steel frame of the building is left exposed; and the side facing the public side is draped with a mahogany screen that creates privacy in the building and diffuses the dappled light filtered through the trees.
