This dream kitchen features an open floor plan with expansive views of the Rocky Mountains. A pull-out pantry, refrigerator drawers, and hidden storage areas ensure the kitchen is fully functional and free of clutter but with food and cooking items within easy reach. The countertops feature unique fossil and Antolin stone, the cherry horizontal grained wood cabinets hail from the same trees, and the custom dining room table is carved from cherry too. Step out from the kitchen to an outdoor dining area with a pass through window to easily access food dishes from the kitchen. What can beat a beautifully painted accent wall? We would have to answer an amazingly textured wall of stone. This stone accent wall idea is covered in Oyster Shell Natural Quartzite Ledge stone. The wall is highlighted with lighting above which captures the natural quartzite adding a sparkle to the finish. Yes, it will cost you more to put stone veneer but it will be worth it. This entire stone panel wall becomes the focal point of the room. This is something that you can do yourself if you have the time and the know how. Create this wall in your home as a weekend project. You really can add stone to your interior wall and make a big impact to any room.

This project was completed in conjunction with the construction of the home. The home’s architect was looking for someone who could design and build a new driveway, front entrance, walkways, patio, fencing, and plantings. The gardens were designed for the homeowner who had a real appreciation for gardening and was looking for variety and colour. The plants are all perennials that are relatively low maintenance while offering a wide variety of colours, heights, shapes and textures. For the hardscape, we used a Mondrian slab interlock for the main features and added a natural stone border for architectural detail.

This front entry was redesigned to solve a critical functional issue: straight steps were cutting into valuable driveway space. A custom curved layout allowed the steps to stay clear of the driveway while improving access and visual flow. Each tread is a single-piece black granite slab, paired with large-format driveway pavers to create a durable, accessible, and architecturally refined entrance.

These custom granite steps were designed to improve accessibility without the need for a ramp. The gentle curve and deep, single-piece treads allow for safer movement while maintaining a clean, permanent stone installation that resists shifting and freeze-thaw movement.

The curved granite steps are carefully integrated into the existing landscape, allowing mature trees and shrubs to remain untouched. This balance between new construction and preserved greenery creates a natural transition from driveway to entry while maintaining privacy, character, and long-term stability.
