  Free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW   Our clients and their three teenage kids had outgrown the footprint of their existing home and felt they needed some space to spread out. They came in with a couple of sets of drawings from different architects that were not quite what they were looking for, so we set out to really listen and try to provide a design that would meet their objectives given what the space could offer. We started by agreeing that a bump out was the best way to go and then decided on the size and the floor plan locations of the mudroom, powder room and butler pantry which were all part of the project. We also planned for an eat-in banquette that is neatly tucked into the corner and surrounded by windows providing a lovely spot for daily meals. The kitchen itself is L-shaped with the refrigerator and range along one wall, and the new sink along the exterior wall with a large window overlooking the backyard. A large island, with seating for five, houses a prep sink and microwave. A new opening space between the kitchen and dining room includes a butler pantry/bar in one section and a large kitchen pantry in the other. Through the door to the left of the main sink is access to the new mudroom and powder room and existing attached garage. White inset cabinets, quartzite countertops, subway tile and nickel accents provide a traditional feel. The gray island is a needed contrast to the dark wood flooring. Last but not least, professional appliances provide the tools of the trade needed to make this one hardworking kitchen. Mid-sized transitional master dark wood floor and brown floor bedroom photo in DC Metro with gray walls and no fireplace

This dreamy master bath remodel in East Cobb offers generous space without going overboard in square footage. The homeowner chose to go with a large double vanity with a custom seated space as well as a nice shower with custom features and decided to forgo the typical big soaking tub. The vanity area shown in the photos has plenty of storage within the wall cabinets and the large drawers below. The countertop is Cedar Brown slab marble with undermount sinks. The brushed nickel metal details were done to work with the theme through out the home. The floor is a 12x24 honed Crema Marfil. The stunning crystal chandelier draws the eye up and adds to the simplistic glamour of the bath. The shower was done with an elegant combination of tumbled and polished Crema Marfil, two rows of Emperador Light inlay and Mirage Glass Tiles, Flower Series, Polished.

This beautiful home for a family of four got a refreshing new design, making it a true reflection of the homeowners' personalities. The living room was designed to look bright and spacious with a stunning custom white oak coffee table, stylish swivel chairs, and a comfortable pale peach sofa. An antique bejeweled snake light creates an attractive focal point encouraging fun conversations in the living room. In the kitchen, we upgraded the countertops and added a beautiful backsplash, and the dining area was painted a soothing sage green adding color and character to the space. One of the kids' bedrooms got a unique platform bed with a study and storage area below it. The second bedroom was designed with a custom day bed with stylish tassels and a beautiful bulletin board wall with a custom neon light for the young occupant to decorate at will. The guest room, with its earthy tones and textures, has a lovely "California casual" appeal, while the primary bedroom was designed like a haven for relaxation with black-out curtains, a statement chain link chandelier, and a beautiful custom bed. In the primary bath, we added a huge mirror, custom white oak cabinetry, and brass fixtures, creating a luxurious retreat! ---Project designed by Sara Barney’s Austin interior design studio BANDD DESIGN. A colorblocked wall in Purple Passion provides the perfect backdrop as an enhancement of the artist's own original artwork. We added coffered ceilings with recessed lighting; the interesting definition is created in the new coffered ceiling by adding additional depth with gray paint. This balances the purple wall and coordinates with sofa and animal print on the chairs. A hand-knotted custom rug in a contemporary pattern grounds the conversation grouping, and motorized shades can be lowered to protect the furnishings or raised to any point to expose the beautiful ocean view. Shiloh Cabinetry, custom paint by Sherwin Williams - Peppercorn. Instead of glass in the double elliptical doors, we used mirror. The elegance of the mirror fits perfectly with the gorgeous crystal pendant lights and hides what's in the cabinet.

The interior has incredible detail with coffered ceilings and wood paneling on the walls in the entry. The wide plank oak flooring stands out against the crisp white walls and elegant lighting. The floor to ceiling windows and doors provide plenty of light for the open floor plan. The wide arched doorways add to the architectural detail throughout the living areas. The kitchen has double islands and plenty of space to create a culinary masterpiece. The quartz counter tops and white custom cabinets stand out under the stained wood plank ceiling. Glass cabinet doors and a custom vent hood add that extra touch to this gorgeous space. Built by Phillip Vlahos of Destin Custom Home Builders. It was designed by Bob Chatham Custom Home Design and decorated by Allyson Runnels.

The owner's custom hood was vented to the outside. Master Carpenters framed the knee wall and custom built Banquette seating. The cabinetry and appliances were installed and enhanced by the installation of: curio lights, under cabinet lights, and and pendant lights. Finally, the owner's hardwood flooring was patched and refinished. This was a remarkable remodel.
