This beautiful kitchen is Thyme & Place Design's take on modern farmhouse style. White painted full access custom cabinets frame the perimeter of the space and a custom soft gray paint adorns the island cabinetry. The former kitchen felt tight and lacked style while this new kitchen has attitude to spare. Sub Zero and Wolf appliances set the stage for a cooks delight. An antique barn beam was used to create the mantle and corbels for an updated version of a mantle hood. Ample storage for everything a gourmet cook could want was provided. Deep drawers hold all the pots and pans for daily cooking. Pull out storage holds oil and vinegar bottles for instant recipe inspiration. A magic corner cabinet allows access to mixing bowls and colanders. Extra height wall cabinet storage contains several sets of dishes and most used foods at the cook’s fingertips. The island does double duty providing seating for extra guests, presenting a large expanse of countertop for all types of cooking prep. There is a microwave drawer for quick reheats and the most coveted by a baker, a built-in mixer lift. Behind the island, an oversized glass door pantry closet holds everything from pantry staples, to holiday dishes and oversized cooking and serving pieces. The dining area found a renewed sense of purpose with the removal of walls which cut it off from the rest of the home. New sky lights and a updated sliding door flood the space with light and open the view to the beautiful yard. A coffee bar was added which includes additional dish storage and a beverage center. Black ebonized maple with honey bronze hardware is a dramatic balance to the white and grey of the kitchen. The space was further opened to the family room which is now an integrated part of the family’s gatherings. Honey Bronze accents are repeated in the light fixtures over the island and as an accent on the sconces above the coffee bar.

Our client said she was surprised to find the third bathroom, her son’s, has turned out to be her favorite. Perhaps it’s the subtle but captivating herringbone tile pattern in the shower, the contrasting granite countertop, or the charcoal hex tile floor that makes it so appealing. This spacious Master Bath was once a series of three small rooms. Walls were removed and the layout redesigned to create an open, luxurious bath, with a curbless shower, heated floor, folding shower bench, body spray shower heads as well as a hand-held shower head. We wanted a little modernism here so we painted all the wood work a dark charcoal grey to make the white pop. Accent mini-brick grey marble tiles to contact against the white wall tiles.

When this suburban family decided to renovate their kitchen, they knew that they wanted a little more space. Advance Design worked together with the homeowner to design a kitchen that would work for a large family who loved to gather regularly and always ended up in the kitchen! So the project began with extending out an exterior wall to accommodate a larger island and more moving-around space between the island and the perimeter cabinetry. Style was important to the cook, who began collecting accessories and photos of the look she loved for months prior to the project design. She was drawn to the brightness of whites and grays, and the design accentuated this color palette brilliantly with the incorporation of a warm shade of brown woods that originated from a dining room table that was a family favorite. Classic gray and white cabinetry from Dura Supreme hits the mark creating a perfect balance between bright and subdued. Hints of gray appear in the bead board detail peeking just behind glass doors, and in the application of the handsome floating wood shelves between cabinets. White subway tile is made extra interesting with the application of dark gray grout lines causing it to be a subtle but noticeable detail worthy of attention. Suede quartz Silestone graces the countertops with a soft matte hint of color that contrasts nicely with the presence of white painted cabinetry finished smartly with the brightness of a milky white farm sink. Old melds nicely with new, as antique bronze accents are sprinkled throughout hardware and fixtures, and work together unassumingly with the sleekness of stainless steel appliances. The grace and timelessness of this sparkling new kitchen maintains the charm and character of a space that has seen generations past. The open wood truss system, tongue in groove ceiling and wood counter top on the island all provide great contrasting interests to the white painted recessed paneled custom-made cabinetry. Two sinks and a trough in the island provide ample utility and enough space for multiple chefs. The client derived inspiration for her new shower from a photo featuring a multi-colored tile floor. Using this photo, Gayler Design Build custom-designed a shower pan that incorporated six different colors of 4-inch hexagon tiles by Lunada Bay. These tiles were beautifully combined and laid in a “dark to light” pattern effectively transforming the shower into a work of art. Contributing to the room’s classic and timeless bathroom design was the shower walls that were designed in cotton white 3x6 subway tiles with grey grout. An elongated, oversized shower niche completed the look providing just the right space for necessary soap and shampoo bottles.

This 5,600 sq ft. custom home is a blend of industrial and organic design elements, with a color palette of grey, black, and hints of metallics. It’s a departure from the traditional French country esthetic of the neighborhood. Especially, the custom game room bar. The homeowners wanted a fun ‘industrial’ space that was far different from any other home bar they had seen before. Through several sketches, the bar design was conceptualized by senior designer, Ayca Stiffel and brought to life by two talented artisans: Alberto Bonomi and Jim Farris. It features metalwork on the foot bar, bar front, and frame all clad in Corten Steel and a beautiful walnut counter with a live edge top. The sliding doors are constructed from raw steel with brass wire mesh inserts and glide over open metal shelving for customizable storage space. Matte black finishes and brass mesh accents pair with soapstone countertops, leather barstools, brick, and glass. Porcelain floor tiles are placed in a geometric design to anchor the bar area within the game room space. Every element is unique and tailored to our client’s personal style; creating a space that is both edgy, sophisticated, and welcoming.

This beautiful kitchen features custom Euro (Frameless) style cabinetry by Mouser Centra. Light grey stained cherry cabinets on Perimeter, dark grey stained cherry cabinets on Island. Cement Tile on Backsplash. Hardware by Emtek. The soffit could not be eliminated, so a hidden pipe chase was created on all of the wall cabinets and hood on the range wall. A pop-out outlet by Legrand in a complimentary color was placed on either side of the island. A pull-out mixer lift was placed on the back of the island, with an electrical outlet inside the cabinet. A plug mold was used under the wall cabinets to give the backsplash a seamless look. A pull-out utensil storage cabinet was placed next to the range. The farm sink is located in the island. The island has seating for two.
