Sometimes you seek a beautiful space where you can commune with the outdoors but still feel at home. This Sammamish client has a gorgeous backyard that needed a new deck in order to take full advantage of summer. The space, while beautiful, also required a design that would maintain privacy from nearby neighbors. This deck, complete with a privacy screen was the perfect solution for their family. We love the look that the ipe wood provided!

Completed in 2015, this project incorporates a Scandinavian vibe to enhance the modern architecture and farmhouse details. The vision was to create a balanced and consistent design to reflect clean lines and subtle rustic details, which creates a calm sanctuary. The whole home is not based on a design aesthetic, but rather how someone wants to feel in a space, specifically the feeling of being cozy, calm, and clean. This home is an interpretation of modern design without focusing on one specific genre; it boasts a midcentury master bedroom, stark and minimal bathrooms, an office that doubles as a music den, and modern open concept on the first floor. It’s the winner of the 2017 design award from the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has been on the Tribeza Home Tour; in addition to being published in numerous magazines such as on the cover of Austin Home as well as Dwell Magazine, the cover of Seasonal Living Magazine, Tribeza, Rue Daily, HGTV, Hunker Home, and other international publications. ---- Featured on Dwell! https://www.dwell.com/article/sustainability-is-the-centerpiece-of-this-new-austin-development-071e1a55

This is an example of a mid-sized traditional full sun backyard mulch vegetable garden landscape for summer.

This 50" x 42" window, "Off On Another Of His Tangents", needed to perform a dual function; The client wanted a bold artwork for the stairwell landing that also had to allow the view of their surrounding property and its rolling hills to be featured. The design represents the ascension from the first floor to the second, with a wide swath of negative space to capture the view. The earth-tone colors were inspired by the palette of a very well known artist's canvas which hangs in close proximity to this space.

Inspiration for a craftsman balcony remodel in Orange County

Wrought iron fencing gives any property a distinguished, traditional look that is very appealing. Used for both decoration and functionality, it is made from iron and other types of metal including steel. Wrought iron or metal fencing is worked in a variety of ways to produce a wide range of specific styles. The bars, rails and caps are combined to form a unique package.

We designed and installed this 15 years ago, before digital camera's....so I'm looking for a picture of it running! :)

A modern mid-century house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills, this was an extensive renovation. The house was brought down to its studs, new foundations poured, and many walls and rooms relocated and resized. The aim was to improve the flow through the house, to make if feel more open and light, and connected to the outside, both literally through a new stair leading to exterior sliding doors, and through new windows along the back that open up to canyon views. photos by Undine Prohl
