Our clients Master Bedroom started with furnishings that where too large for the room and quite daunting. The dresser was being used in the dining room, so it was relocated to the bedroom and new pieces added to create an aesthetically appealing and comfortable presentation. The masculine deep stain on the dresser and new headboard where balanced with gold painted finishes on the side table, a beige linen duvet and light beige carpet. Hunter Douglas motorized Designer Roller Shades hide nicely behind the custom cornice box and drapery side panels. We wanted to make sure the entire window space would be exposed as this Master Bedroom has a spectacular view of the La Madre mountain range in West Summerlin. Small dining rooms can be daunting to furnish. You need to make sure your dining table can seat guests comfortably while allowing enough space to move around freely. If you cannot find one in the correct size, a custom table is the answer. Due to the shape of this dining room, we had a custom rectangular table made to fit the space. It is an added bonus if you can carve out enough space for a small console table. This can serve as a bar area or as buffet space when needed. It began with a huge hole in our backyard that was quickly surrounded by cement block and a promise of good things to come. It was worth it. We moved into our first-floor great room and kitchen over the Holidays. It’s a warm, bright, open space that makes entertaining friends and family easy. And it’s big enough to comfortably make breakfast on busy mornings. We even have our very own coffee and tea stations! I’ve also decided to remodel the first-floor bath. And to demonstrate my commitment I’ve taken everything out – walls, ceiling, flooring – right down to the studs. The old bath will be transformed into a warm, comfortable ¾ bath, perfectly located in the center of the first floor for easy traffic flow. I’ve decided to do the tiling myself – a daunting task that I don’t take lightly. But I find it quite relaxing. We’ll keep you posted on that!

This is the finished dining room. The Simplicity Shutters accented by the Bali draperies are perfect. Hollie, Lee and 3 kiddoes under the age of 9 make up the Baby Gizmo family. Renovation and expansion of a 1930s-era classic. Buying an old house can be daunting. But with careful planning and some creative thinking, phasing the improvements helped this family realize their dreams over time. The original International Style house was built in 1934 and had been largely untouched except for a small sunroom addition. Phase 1 construction involved opening up the interior and refurbishing all of the finishes. Phase 2 included a sunroom/master bedroom extension, renovation of an upstairs bath, a complete overhaul of the landscape and the addition of a swimming pool and terrace. And thirteen years after the owners purchased the home, Phase 3 saw the addition of a completely private master bedroom & closet, an entry vestibule and powder room, and a new covered porch.

A lot more goes in to Living Room design than meets the eye. It can be extremely challenging designing the many elements that must be considered in a true and unique Custom Home– from floor to ceiling not a single nook or cranny can be left un-imagined. Finding that special piece de résistance can be daunting to say the least. But the reward that comes after a room is put together in grand style is unsurpassed by any other. A lot of elements go into this process, and its not a task that should be taken or given lightly. This is why the design team at Houston based Frontier Custom Builders, Inc spend countless hours training, drafting and designing leaving not a single stone upturned.

Eastview Before & After Exterior Renovation Enhancing a home’s exterior curb appeal doesn’t need to be a daunting task. With some simple design refinements and creative use of materials we transformed this tired 1950’s style colonial with second floor overhang into a classic east coast inspired gem. Design enhancements include the following: • Replaced damaged vinyl siding with new LP SmartSide, lap siding and trim • Added additional layers of trim board to give windows and trim additional dimension • Applied a multi-layered banding treatment to the base of the second-floor overhang to create better balance and separation between the two levels of the house • Extended the lower-level window boxes for visual interest and mass • Refined the entry porch by replacing the round columns with square appropriately scaled columns and trim detailing, removed the arched ceiling and increased the ceiling height to create a more expansive feel • Painted the exterior brick façade in the same exterior white to connect architectural components. A soft blue-green was used to accent the front entry and shutters • Carriage style doors replaced bland windowless aluminum doors • Larger scale lantern style lighting was used throughout the exterior

First off, your HOA is committed to preserving the neighborhood's curb appeal integrity by focusing on the impact your new custom garage doors might have on your house and the houses of your neighbors. This garage door is actually a single double-car door not two as it appears. The reason is that this garage used to have two separate doors with a post in the middle. The post in the middle made it difficult to use the garage on a daily basis so the post was removed to facilitate the use of the garage. The HOA wasn't too happy about the removal of the post as it was an essential part of the arches located right above the garage doors. You can clearly see how that would have been disruptive if the homeowner went with a regular wood door and not one custom designed and manufactured by Dynamic Garage Door. This garage door was specifically designed to address the HOA's concern about the center post removal and the effect it would have on the curb appeal of the home with the incomplete double arch look. So we addressed this by crafting the door with a false center post in the middle that was textured and painted the same color of the house to give off that illusion that the post is still there. Overall, it gives the home a complete finished appearance with two independent-looking doors and original post. The homeowner got the entire width of the opening to use at the push of a button so having a larger car won't be a problem anymore.
