Corner glass enclosed wine room. Focus as elegant way to store and display wine as well as having a lighted tasting counter when opening and decanting wines. Elegant wine racks with light metal, glass, acrylic and gold finished wood cabinetry. Awesome ambiance with LEDs embedded created when drinking wine in the living room. Cooling equipment hidden in soffit behind wood perforated ceiling grill.

These refrigerator drawers by SubZero add much needed fresh food storage in the kitchen, and their location near the cooktop and the prep sink boost functionality and efficiency for the chef. Notice, too, that these drawers can be accessed by guests and children without interfering with the chef's work. In fact, filling the drawers with beverages as you see in this photo enhances the use of the "wine decanting and beverage center space" just across the aisle (see previous photo.) You can see the iron pot-and-pan rollouts more clearly in this photo -- and notice how convenient they are to the chef. No worries about nicks and dings with these rollouts and the heaviest iron cookware is easy to store and access. Keep an eye on the tall narrow cabinets at either side of the iron rollouts as you scroll to the next photo.

This home resides in the covert worthy neighborhood of Garthwick. Surrounded by one of Portland’s most prestigious country clubs, beautifully classic homes, and oak trees that tell the stories of generations; it was a dream to breathe new life into this traditional cottage. The clients truly enjoyed the design process from start to finish, commenting regularly at how much fun it was to work through all of the details with the APD team! Awkwardly located stairs to the basement were reconfigured and an unused chimney was removed adding significant square footage of space and linear footage of storage & countertop to the kitchen. An original window at the back of the kitchen was removed in favor of French doors out to the client’s new terrace making perfect access for alfresco dining with family and friends. Within an existing nook, we created a multi-purpose zone with convenient coffee prep space, wine decanting and buffet serving surface, and even custom storage for baking sheets and trays … perfect for baking cookies with the grandchildren! Custom push-out casement windows behind the sink speak to the home’s original architecture while bringing in an abundance of natural light. Clean lined and elegant fixtures and a custom plaster hood make the space shine! The new kitchen is at once classic, casual, traditional, and in-keeping with the home’s original character while infused with the modern amenities including custom cabinets, storage accessories, professional appliances, & easily maintained surfaces.

This incredible construction and engineering feat of a custom wine cellar involved the homeowner completely digging out the space by hand under the ground of their garage. The space was then excavated and re-covered and sealed to appear as if nothing had ever happened. Inside the house, A stone archway and corridor, covering a rustic and ornate staircase leads down into the underground custom wine cellar. The stairs also have a counterweight feature in which they completely lift vertically half way down the staircase to reveal another small storage space. Not for wine, but what a cool feature! Upon entering this large walk in wine cellar, stone archways welcome you into a dimly lit social space, surrounded by thousands of incredible bottles of burgundy, bordaux, napa vally cabernets and the like. Stone surrounds the custom designed wine racking arches. On the left side of the entrance, there is a gorgeous mosaic of wine grapes and leaves in a somewhat abstract fashion. The gorgeous marble countertop underneath with a Rogar wine bottle opener remains as a perfect place to open and decant wine to let breathe. The main room in the rustic wine cellar features individual and double bottle storage, stone and unfinished walnut archways, and high reveal display rows wrapping throughout. The stone walls, torch-like lighting fixtures and the stunning old world style chandelier creates a true feeling that this Huntington Beach / Newport Beach wine cellar is actually inside of an old castle. Upon turning the corner into the next wine storage space, you are greeted by walls of library style, floor to ceiling, double deep wine racking with a high reveal display row at waist level. This section of the vintage rustic wine cellar also has a library ladder, ensuring that every bottle can be reached with ease. The homeowners intelligently collaborated with Vintage Cellars to create a smart wine cellar design with room for social gatherings, as well as a back corridor featuring their most prized wines and champagnes. The unique underground location of this medieval farmhouse style wine cellar also assists greatly in maintaining a constant cool temperature and humidity. First new and innovative spider design wine racking created for a client that wanted a work of art in the entertainment room to display and store their wine. This racking is extremely light with ladder type metal plates and all bottles placed on acrylic laser cut shelves and adapters for a floating effect. The center module provide a unique experience in being able to open, taste and decanter wines with a light tasting counter and small lighted cigar humidor. The 2 tone gold and white finishes provides an elegant match and ambiance complemented by LED strips.

New innovative wine room racking that incorporates wood and metal tubes with grey finishes. Ideally lighted with RGB leds and open spaces to provide a very light display and storage area. A tasting counter and work table added to decanter wine and open bottles with a drawer for accessories. A wooden perforated cover placed in ceiling to cover unsightly cooling equipment. Through the magic of wine cellar vapor barrier and insulation, the design build team at Vintage Cellars was able to properly prepare this outbuilding to store over 1700 collectible wines. Working closely with the client, we were able to understand that although display is nice - uncompromising long term storage was the overarching goal. Sweeping throughout the room above, individual bottle storage reigns to maximize bottle count. At about chest height, you can see two rows of angled high reveal display. Here, the homeowner placed his prized bottles - just a glimpse of what this incredible collection holds. Directly in the center of this medium sized wine room lies a small peninsula - a small section jetting out where larger format bottles are kept atop, as well as more space below in individual bottle storage. A small tabletop can be utilized to open wines or to let your favorites decant while you peruse the gems throughout. Below again is more individual bottle storage, sitting atop gorgeous Mediterranean style tile. Another unique feature of this wine cellar / wine room / wine storage space / wine closet / wine shed / wine vault / custom wine cellar / custom wine room / custom wood wine cellar / redwood wine cellar is the bridge across the top of the door. We ended the racking with a quarter round wine rack installed near the door. Each shelf can store a favorite bottle of the client. We connected with our client for this project via Instagram. He had this beautiful study with wainscoting details and beautiful millwork already in place, so we were immediately excited! The ask was for a magazine-ready look, something very textural with dark colors and high drama.

In this photo, you can see the custom wine racks on the left and back walls. The combination of different racking styles added elegance to the cellar. The counter top is a great feature of the wine room because it provides additional space for the client's bottles. It is also a great place for decanting and serving wine.
