Innovative Design BuildFive stars isn’t enough! Our project was to reconfigure and update the main floor of a house we recently purchased that was built in 1961. We wanted to maintain some of the unique feeling it originally had but bring it up-to-date and eliminate the closed-in rooms and downright weird layout that was the result of multiple, partial remodeling projects. We began with a long wishlist of changes which also required replacement of very antiquated plumbing, electrical wiring and HVAC. We even found a fireplace that had been walled in and needed major re-construction. Many other aspects and details on this incredible list we made included an all new kitchen layout, converting a bedroom into a master closet, adding new half-bath, completely rebuilding the master bath, and adding stone, tile and custom built cabinetry. Our design plans included many fixtures and details that we specified and required professional installation and careful handling. Innovative helped us make reasonable decisions. Their skilled staff took us through a design process that made sense. There were many questions and all were answered with sincere conversation and positive – innovation – on how we could achieve our goals. Innovative provided us with professional consultants, who listened and were courteous and creative, with solid knowledge and informative judgement. When they didn’t have an answer, they did the research. They developed a comprehensive project plan that exceeded our expectations. Every item on our long list was checked-off. All agreed on work was fulfilled and they completed all this in just under four months. Innovative took care of putting together a team of skilled professional specialists who were all dedicated to make everything right. Engineering, construction, supervision, and I cannot even begin to describe how much thanks we have for the demolition crew! Our multiple, detailed project designs from Raul and professional design advice from Mindy and the connections she recommended are all of the best quality. Diego Jr., Trevor and his team kept everything on track and neat and tidy every single day and Diego Sr., Mark, Ismael, Albert, Santiago and team are true craftsmen who follow-up and make the most minuscule woodworking details perfect. The cabinets by Tim and electrical work and installation of fixtures by Kemchan Harrilal-BB and Navindra Doolratram, and Augustine and his crew on tile and stone work – all perfection. Aisling and the office crew were always responsive to our calls and requests. And of course Clark and Eric who oversaw everything and gave us the best of the best! for everything. The two wardrobes provide generous storage capacity without taking up valuable floor
space, and readily open up to sweep toys out of sight. The myWall® panels accommodate various shelving options and bins that can all be repositioned as needed. Additional storage and display options are strategically
provided around the room to store sheet music or display art projects on any of three magnetic panels.

The modular components on the myWall® panels are all locked securely in place no matter what they store. The custom drop-down table includes two safety latches to prevent unintentional opening. The floor drop doors are all equipped with slow glide closing hinges so no fingers will be trapped.

DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen - UtahThese clients didn't hate their current kitchen layout, but they wanted to bring the kitchen up to date and to add a larger island. They updated the carpet in the living room as well as the fireplace in order to add cohesiveness to the new kitchen design. The kitchen includes white maple cabinets, gray quartz counter tops, and LVT flooring. They also updated the laundry and bathroom in the white maple cabinets. Finally, they updated the master bath with new counter tops.

Amy Troute Inspired Interior DesignWe were approached by a Karen, a renowned sculptor, and her husband Tim, a retired MD, to collaborate on a whole-home renovation and furnishings overhaul of their newly purchased and very dated “forever home” with sweeping mountain views in Tigard. Karen and I very quickly found that we shared a genuine love of color, and from day one, this project was artistic and thoughtful, playful, and spirited. We updated tired surfaces and reworked odd angles, designing functional yet beautiful spaces that will serve this family for years to come. Warm, inviting colors surround you in these rooms, and classic lines play with unique pattern and bold scale. Personal touches, including mini versions of Karen’s work, appear throughout, and pages from a vintage book of Audubon paintings that she’d treasured for “ages” absolutely shine displayed framed in the living room.
Partnering with a proficient and dedicated general contractor (LHL Custom Homes & Remodeling) makes all the difference on a project like this. Our clients were patient and understanding, and despite the frustrating delays and extreme challenges of navigating the 2020/2021 pandemic, they couldn’t be happier with the results.

Senior Designer Diana Burton’s client loved her sixties-era home – it just needed some work. The cozy galley kitchen was narrow and mostly closed off from the family room. A pass-through window served as a limited pipeline for treats and chatter. The appliances were failing, too. It was simply time for an overhaul.
Design Objectives:
Remove load bearing wall and open kitchen to the family room
Omit large unused fireplace in family room
Increase work surfaces and overall storage solutions
Dedicated small countertop appliance storage
Seating for 3 or 4 at island
Add pantry storage
Offer solution for lack of mudroom
Upgrade all appliances
THE REMODEL

THE RENEWED SPACE
This cramped, dated kitchen has a new lease on life! Opening it to the family room dramatically transformed the space. Diana’s client now has plenty of storage, a big island for food prep, and an open-concept space that’s perfect for entertaining and hanging out with friends and family.
DEANE Inc | Distinctive Design & CabinetryThe homeowner was eager to update her dated kitchen into a modern yet functional space for both entertaining and cooking. The DEANE team worked to deliver a sophisticated, industrial vibe, leveraging unique materials and memorable accessories. The kitchen was outfitted with the full suite of SubZero/Wolf appliances and accessories to create a true chef’s kitchen for this family of six. The 48” range with griddle was a necessity, in addition to a convection oven, steam oven, and warming drawer. The decision was made to dedicate a refrigerator column to beverages with an independent ice maker by the beverage bar.
The white powder-coated convex hood is accented with polished stainless steel metal strapping. It is flanked by cabinetry columns with integrated LED lighting on either side, which have been recessed into the wall, projecting slightly to feel like professional displays. Satin stainless steel drawer fronts with polished trim for dramatic effect shine on the lower cabinetry on the cooking wall as well as the display and upper cabinetry on the opposite wall, adding a mix of transitional white cabinetry for warmth and variety. The backsplash is a 2 1/2 x 10 1/2 ceramic tile installed in a contemporary ‘stacked’ pattern, balanced by Calacatta quartz countertops. A finishing touch was to replace wood floors with 2×2 ft porcelain tiles that are warmed by radiant heat.

Missy Stewart DesignsSeabrook features miles of shoreline just 30 minutes from downtown Houston. Our clients found the perfect home located on a canal with bay access, but it was a bit dated. Freshening up a home isn’t just paint and furniture, though. By knocking down some walls in the main living area, an open floor plan brightened the space and made it ideal for hosting family and guests. Our advice is to always add in pops of color, so we did just with brass. The barstools, light fixtures, and cabinet hardware compliment the airy, white kitchen. The living room’s 5 ft wide chandelier pops against the accent wall (not that it wasn’t stunning on its own, though). The brass theme flows into the laundry room with built-in dog kennels for the client’s additional family members.
We love how bright and airy this bayside home turned out!

We transformed this 1980’s Colonial eyesore into a beautiful, light-filled home that's completely family friendly. Opening up the floor plan eased traffic flow and replacing dated details with timeless furnishings and finishes created a clean, classic, modern take on 'farmhouse' style. Mauk Cabinets by DesignThis is easily our most stunning job to-date.
