This Family Room entertainment system has (5) in-ceiling speakers and (1) subwoofer for the 5.1 surround sound system. The eliminate the chance of residual sound making its way upstairs, we used an acoustical mass barrier above the second floor joists prior to installing the plywood decking. This "limp mass barrier" effectively blocks 95% of the sound from the in-ceiling speakers. the last 5% is handled by the blown insulation. The audio system has the ability to "synchronize the Family Room & Kitchen areas for a seamless playback without any unwanted audio delays or echo.

The 'Multi-Comfort Home' GridSTAR Energy Demonstration Structure, located at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia, utilizes industry-leading construction techniques and an innovative strategy for energy generation, management and coordination within the host microgrid. The Apollo II photovoltaic roofing system, as well as fiberglass and spray foam insulation, foundation drainage and waterproofing systems, insulated vinyl siding and gypsum board, were provided by CertainTeed Corporation. Spearheaded by Penn State with support from the U.S. Department of Energy, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), the GridSTAR Net Zero Energy Demonstration Structure is the first phase of the GridSTAR Center and will serve as a valuable hub for workforce training, building performance testing, energy management research and “smart” microgrid modernization deployments. The large format artwork hints the love of music found in this home. The Juno recessed lights are mechanically capable of tilting the lamp assembly up to 45 degrees and rotating 360 degrees so they can be aimed at the artwork. This is done above the drywall and are far more appealing than the old "eyeball" lights.
