This West Kelowna home was already impressive, but was feeling weighed down by the vast amounts of dark wood. The client was dreaming of a lighter look that had a sophisticated coastal charm. This home demanded high level, refined furnishings. With this in mind and the fact that it would retain the existing hood fan, flooring and backsplash we chose a completely new and complimentary colour palette. We also selected a new dining table and chairs, coffee table, area carpets, occasional tables and chairs and artisan textiles. To top it off we ordered a custom Czech Replublic hand blown glass pendant arrangement for the dining area. Before project completion my client had an unforseen move happen. With this change we concluded the project at West Bay and moved our design focus to her new home. Months later I was excited to find out that the custom glass pendant had arrived and had been carefully installed by the electrician. It was a bittersweet moment as I wasn't able to see the job at completion, but now the project was concluded and I was so happy that the new owners could enjoy our design.

Keeping with the craftsman design, these homeowners wanted to keep the same color palette but with all new products. When weighing the ongoing costs of patchwork repairs and repainting against a comprehensive exterior renovation, the cost vs. value equation became clear. Opting for new siding, energy-efficient windows, doors, and updated trim not only resolved maintenance issues but also ensured a long-term solution, tackling unseen deterioration that could be very costly in the future.

After setting a comfortable budget, our clients weighed the different buying options in their ideal area in order to achieve the perfect living space. They ultimately purchased a property with an existing house knowing it could be transformed into exactly what they envisioned for their home. This project presented some design challenges, as the team worked to fit the footprint of the home within the constraints of two high-pressure gas line easements. Inch by inch, foot by foot, we worked together with the clients for six months in the planning stages to give them the living space they dreamed of.
