Jewett Farms + Co’s Old Growth Cherry plank flooring features rich red and brown tones that develop over time giving our cherry flooring an enduring and sophisticated appeal that grows more beautiful with every year. Cherry wood has been highly valued by craftsmen for generations. Its rich, cherry toned timbers are fine grained, insect resistant and strong. It is also pliable and for this reason has been prized as a material not only for furniture but also for musical instruments.
Jewett Farms + Co’s selection of Old Growth Cherry flooring is a spectacular choice for customers looking to add a sophisticated feel their homes. Jewett Farms + Co offers two versions of our popular Old Growth Cherry flooring from our New England headquarters.

A Brush with Brass - The cool metal tones (stainless steel, nickel, chrome, etc.) that have outsold all other finishes on everything from decorative hardware to faucets to furniture have become so popular they have begun to look commonplace.
Warmer brass finishes (along with copper and bronze) have been moving in from the margins and are beginning to make a splash in high-end commercial projects and contemporary design. Brass offers a compelling and intriguingly fresh look, especially with a brushed finish that is different enough from the polished brass of the 70s to look brand new!
It always takes a few years before new trends fully develop and become part of mainstream interior design, but brushed brass looks are certainly gaining popularity. This Dura Supreme kitchen, with it's sleek contemporary design, utilizes brushed brass accents in lighting, decorative hardware and plumbing.

Inspiration for a transitional medium tone wood floor and brown floor bedroom remodel in Los Angeles with white walls

Our client purchased this small bungalow a few years ago in a mature and popular area of Edmonton with plans to update it in stages. First came the exterior facade and landscaping which really improved the curb appeal. Next came plans for a major kitchen renovation and a full development of the basement. That's where we came in. Our designer worked with the client to create bright and colorful spaces that reflected her personality. The kitchen was gutted and opened up to the dining room, and we finished tearing out the basement to start from a blank state. A beautiful bright kitchen was created and the basement development included a new flex room, a crafts room, a large family room with custom bar, a new bathroom with walk-in shower, and a laundry room. The stairwell to the basement was also re-done with a new wood-metal railing. New flooring and paint of course was included in the entire renovation. So bright and lively! And check out that wood countertop in the basement bar!

Steeply pitched gable roofs with prominent overhangs and dark metal roofing.
Exposed wooden timber framing in the gables (the triangular braces and beams) — a signature Craftsman detail.
Dark horizontal siding (charcoal/black) contrasted with white trim, black shutters, and natural wood porch posts.
Mixed materials: Stone veneer wainscoting at the base, adding texture and grounding the design.
Covered front porch with sturdy wooden columns and a welcoming entry.
Symmetrical but relaxed layout with an attached garage.
Large multi-pane windows and overall emphasis on clean lines with rustic-modern touches.
This is a very popular contemporary American style (often called Modern Farmhouse or Craftsman Farmhouse). It blends:Traditional Farmhouse elements (gable roofs, porch, practical layout)
Craftsman details (exposed timbers, mixed materials, built-in feel)
Modern updates (dark monochromatic color scheme, clean siding, metal roof)
It’s widely built today in suburban and semi-rural developments across the U.S.
